@Fluttershy There were 3 explosions. One was at Seaside while my daughter was at Point Pleasant with my dad (half an hour north, still on the shore). One was in Chelsea over the weekend (which is the neighborhood in Manhattan where I work, although I wasn't there at the time), and the last was in the Elizabeth train station Monday morning (which my train goes through; I worked from home that day).

So I'm fine, but they were all chilling in their own way.

if you shoot him in the arm, he loses all capacity for pulling the trigger

but the problem is that human shooters aren't accurate enough to reliably pull off an arm shot, so they have to go for the more dangerous chest shot

Anyway, we still don't know all the facts. Yeah, that cop probably fucked up. Sounds like she got pretty worked up and fearful and overreacted. She talks about having tunnel vision not even knowing the other cop was there. And maybe there's more training or some other solution to the problem that needs to be worked on, and maybe the fact he's black made her more fearful than she might have been.

My dad was a cop and always found traffic stops stressful, because you don't know what you're talking into. And he only had to pull his gun twice in the line of duty, and never fired it.

He walked in on a prison break where 2 inmates had a shiv held to one of the guards and were trying to get out. He pulled his gun, told them to get on the ground of he'd blow their heads off. I'm sure he used harsh language.

@KutuluMike There's a project here that uses node.js and node, for whatever reason, ends up creating hundreds, if not thousands of nested directories. If you want to clear out your repo directory for whatever reason, Windows vomits over trying to delete it.

So, I ended using robocopy to delete it.

@Ellesedil Node, and particularly slightly older versions of npm, have a tendency to create deeply nested folders because of how they do dependency management

@KutuluMike Bash on Windows probably hooks into the windows file system using the newer file APIs that don't have that ridiculously short path length limit

Q: Grand Theft Auto V "Not Optimum Mode"

When I open GTAV it goes directly to a black screen with a floating box that says "Not Optimum Mode Recommended Mode 1920x1080 60 Hz". I have a Samsung S24d300 monitor which is set at 1920x1080. I've updated my NVIDIA hardware. Also, I played the first two missions before this issue occurred.

XCOM 2, Civ V, The Witness, and Resident Evil is what I've narrowed it down to.

A knock against resident evil is that I'm lazy and don't wnat to dig it out of a box or hook up my wii

hmm looks like HD is better for them there HDTVs, and being able to own it in a way that I can be lazy would be nice

@Wipqozn I also disliked how (or how far) the difficulty ramped up. Because of how they designed their puzzles, small increases in apparent complexity lead to large increases in the number of candidate solutions, and for the hardest puzzles, working the solution out loigically felt intractable.
