@Himarm another poor soul that really believes the old folk tales about trading... :P

@AnkitSharma Knowing how Ingress players talk about Niantic, I'd be surprised. They claim that even basic QoL updates can take years to happen.

7:57 AM
@DrRDizzle There first motive seems to be releasing it everywhere and they have big backlog for that and even they have to resolve those bugs

8:27 AM
@AnkitSharma All I'm saying is: I wouldn't hold my breath for updates to the app adding things like trading, breeding, new Pokemon etc.

I am holding breath for the release date here ;D

Is it still not working for you?

yes, not in my city

@AnkitSharma Sucks to be you.

I don't know why but it's still working in few cities , I am going to one in 10 Aug ;)

9:09 AM
@AnkitSharma 10 August? I think on 10, Aug I will be starting my cruise to the center of the universe...

9:25 AM
I'll have seen Suicide Squad by then.

10:09 AM
@Derpy I am going to my hometown at that time
@DrRDizzle me to, same pinch

Actually... I was just talking about No Man's Sky.

10:24 AM
@Derpy Someone please explain to me why people seem so interested in a game that has no features.

@DrRDizzle Can't help with that ;p

"You can explore almost infinite planets."
"Then what?"
"Erm...."

@DrRDizzle you realize the inherent sarcasm of asking such question... in a Pokemon GO chat board, right?
Anyway....
The Bartle taxonomy of player types is a classification of video game players (gamers) based on a 1996 paper by Richard Bartle according to their preferred actions within the game. The classification originally described players of multiplayer online games (including MUDs and MMORPGs), though now it also refers to players of single-player video games. The taxonomy is based on a character theory. This character theory consists of four characters: Achievers, Explorers, Socializers, and Killers. These are imagined according to a quadrant model where the X axis represents preference for interacting...
you see the bottom right quadrant?
that is your answer.

Changed my avatar to show my hate towards not being able to play the game.

10:47 AM
@AnkitSharma Shocker.

The Snark is strong in this one.

@Derpy Maybe features was the wrong word. Purpose might be a better one. A goal.
@AnkitSharma You realise that just makes it look like you don't like the game, not that you don't like not being able to play it?

Yeah i know but got no other suitable one
Open for suggestions

Hand gesture is better

10:59 AM
@DrRDizzle that is the point. As someone said "the goal isn't were you will end up. It is what you will see on the road and the friend you will meet"
Trad: I will probably just enjoy going round randomly and watching the different environment.
Now, the real question is how different the environments will be.
That said... I am pretty sure that some of those planets won't be "procedural generated". I bet they will have left some very strange custom made one somewhere.

@Derpy OK, but all games have a journey. Most of them also have a destination in mind as well though.

@DrRDizzle I mean that while I play a game, I am more interested in what I will see while I play than how the game is going to end. As a result, I am fine with a game that is just about visiting strange places. And as I already said, the only point is understanding how different those will be.

11:16 AM
lots of games have no ending.
none of the classic arcade games had ends. they just went on forever.

@KutuluMike In which case they had a high score. The objective was to get those numbers as high as possible.

the objective in no man's sky is to explore more of the universe than anyone else

Temple run, subway surfer don't have ending either

Even games like Minecraft, the least "purposeful" game I can think of, allows to to set your own objectives, such as building a particular structure. What can a player do to entertain themselves in No Mans Sky? Once they find a planet, what can they do beyond "be on it"?
Exploration can be fun in games, but it has to serve a purpose.

holy moly, now dizzle is after games too O.o

11:24 AM
So I've read the Wiki page, and apparently the game does have something of a goal - getting the centre of the galaxy.
Also, it apparently has MMO elements, which is interesting.

@AnkitSharma 10 August? I think on 10, Aug I will be starting my cruise to the center of the universe...

11:50 AM
@Derpy I assumed you were just talking about the game in general, not saying that you had a goal in mind.

@DrRDizzle nope, that is actually the game goal. Not necessarily my goal too, probably for a while I will just go round randomly.

To be honest, after reading a bit more about it, I am somewhat curious. But I won't be at all surprised if people are done playing it after a couple of months.

But rest assured: I bet there will be people that will ruin their experience (and probably others too) and try to rush to the center in the first few days.
I would be pretty surprised if no one has reached the center by one week from game launch.
You know, everyone will race for the great honor of begin the first.
I don't care at all. Actually, I don't even want my game to be connected to others in the first place.

@Derpy There is a single player mode, but as far as I can tell, you're still on the same seed.
So it's the same "map", so to speak.

I don't need to see all the "look at me, I am grown up and can think of uncouth names" label people will feel the urge to add....

12:00 PM
No Mans Sky is a full priced game?
Hahahahaha. Nope.
No thanks.

@DrRDizzle yep, I know. The online component is shared discovery for the most part. Which means that I would have to live with the species and planets name some immature guy out there will think would be very funny to add.
@DrRDizzle Yer money, yer choices, yer games.

why is ankit posting a sexual hand lol

i wasn't going to bring it up.
