you have to switch in a low level mon to your party

so.

at lunch, I thought I would multitask, and get some exercise, find a new lunch spot, and catch some pokemon.

i walked around the business area for about an hour in 100degree weather and caught 4 spearow and a weedle.

and just when i thought I couldn't get any more miserable, it started raining.

why the f!@#$$ did I think it was a good idea to go for a walk at noon?

The Youngster badge is ridiculous. I have caught 265 Rattatas, and apparently only 29 of them were "tiny"

as far as badges go, i think identifying all players as female is more annoying

badges...medals... whatever they're called in this game

Why does it matter? It's just the name of an achievement

why does it matter if the youngster badge counts weights correctly?

hint: neither really matters.

I just think it's kind of crazy to have an achievement that depends on a large number of low-probability events

then the complaint is even less founded, imo. achievements shouldnt just be handed out for nothing.

at least some of them should be difficult to get

but i dont give a rattata's ass about achievements. ymmv.

I don't even know why I bothered. I just wanted to comment on my frustration with a slow, high-variance achievement in the game

in my totally meaningless opinion, achievements should be handed out for things that take effort and/or skill, but not dumb luck or tedious grinding

That's exactly my point. This achievement is basically "Roll D10s until you roll a 1 100 times. But first you have to find each D10"

you get badges for walking x meters or catching x pokemon/.

that's basically grinding

The issue I have, at least, is with the extra layer of randomness in that achievement

You can just walk if you want the first achievement, and you generally just find pokemon regularly if you're in a populated area
