@silverpenguin You know, frankly, I find most a bit boring already. Sure, it's an excellent way to start practicing offensive security, RE, and generally trying to crush even tougher nuts than @Simon's, but most are much on the same tune and some even pretty unimaginative and repetitive
@TildalWave yes i know :( but i need to get down the basics... the basics i know are not useful for a professional area of work, the things i know are more vicious than proving a point if you know what i mean
@silverpenguin sure, I was just expressing frustration that most CTFs seem to be about repackaging same old tricks and I rarely see something new ... not always tho, depends on the organizer
@RоryMcCune that's probably a 'logical once you get it' - I'm at the stage before that which is 'how the **** do I get to that place just there in my car'
@RoryAlsop you just need to know the H and V streets you're off then count up (or down) as you go through them :) that breaks down a bit in the centre, but it's not too bad for the rest...
@RоryMcCune i have been living here for two years and still dont know the difference... i dont know the names... i just know directions and land marks xD
@Arperum the trams i have seen in england are just seem to be so badly designed and placed they just suck ... trams are good when used correctly... here we dont seem to be able to design towns/citys well ... i think cars should be banned from large cities / towns and trams used... but obviously thats just a logisitical nightmare
@silverpenguin The problem with Manchester is that it is easy to go into or out of Manchester on public transport, i.e. like the spokes on a wheel. If you want to go across town, though, that's not so easy.
worst possible route - as in, the existing bus route was award winning, did exactly what it needed, and caused no disruption. The trams on that route only serve a small fragment of it, disrupt everything, are inefficient, keep hitting people/cars/bikes
And if you got on anything run by northern rail, they're running an epic challenge to use as much rolling stock pre-dating the steam engine as is physically possible.
from what i understand about trump, alot of the crap people are going on about that trump does or says is taken 100% out of context and is just used to make him look like a douche... i dont support him and while i see him as a little extreme i can see the benefits he has
My current working theory is that Trump is actually working for the Clinton campaign by doing his best to make sure the opposition is unelectable. I don't think he actually wants to be president.
@Iszi Yeah, by appealing strongly enough to the extreme right to both a) to completely eliminate support in that base for other right-wing candidates, but also b) completely eliminate support for himself in the moderate right base.
@silverpenguin Would you like to be arrested for sending an encrypted zip file to someone? Might be entirely innocent, but the mere use of it could result in arrest... She's trying to make it so she can have virtually anyone arrested, then find a better reason later
So if they keep saying "what we need to fight terrorism is all the data we can get and btw that encryption stuff is pesky" then the government will legislate to give them that, because terrorism.
@silverpenguin You are very optimistic. If you make the laws, you can make anything stand up for long enough to make life uncomfortable for anyone you like
@Matthew I think thats the most annoying thing though, I dont do anything wrong but yet every tom dick and harry should be allowed to see what i do because, why? because fuck you is why
haha this topic makes me so angry im sorry everyone e_e
@TildalWave corporate is a tad different from personal i think, but yes its still dumb they want to see... im sorry is mcdonalds some secret terrorist ring?
@TildalWave Yeah. I know Netherlands isn't perfect, but it's better, and it's close enough here to be able to visit friends and family without too much effort. Also, I know some people who live there already
