@TomCody haven't seen Under Fire; Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow is classic fun. Alas, I am burdened with the demand for horror. Since I started collecting, cataloging, and reading more about them I'm just enjoying them more.

Q: 80s Mecha Anime where mecha emerges from a drawn symbol on the ground

MarkoI'd love to track the anime from the 80s that had a band of kids traveling around and who could summon mecha by shooting discs (from a pistol or a bow) which would draw a symbol on any big flat surface from which a mecha would emerge. I can't remember its name. Thanks!

Q: Question about historical figures and timeline in Ever After...a cinderella story

steelerfanI understand that Ever After is a fairytale; however, the film included actual historical figures and references in the film. The historical figures do not coincide with movie timeline. Q: Possibly orphan taken in by two brothers (?) in a strange house

Ben PhilippIt seems the movie is from the 80's or 90's. It's pretty sure it's an american movie. My brother remembers a boy, possibly an orphan (about 8-12 yrs), who gets taken in by two men who might be brothers (possibly his uncles), maybe in their 50s, living in a rather strange apartment, somewhat diml...

The DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is an American media franchise and shared fictional universe that is centered on a series of superhero films, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and based on characters that appear in publications by DC Comics. The shared universe, much like the original DC Universe in comic books, will be established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters. The first film released in the DCEU was Man of Steel (2013), a reboot of the Superman film series. It will be followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and then by eleven additional films...

@MovieReel Oh, obviously! Great show, really liked it.

@Walt honestly I don't remember; one of the benefits to collecting and cataloging all this horror from across the past 15 years is I'm going to have to re-watch a bunch of these that I don't remember super clearly beyond "It was good"

Q: a movie about a boy/kid with a fairy-like creature

pleasehelpmei really2 appreciate if you can help me with this. i have been searching for this movie title but the result is frustating and i am still searching for an answer... this movie is about a boy (if im not mistaken) found a tiny fairy-like or i guess its a fairy or it can be a tiny human like butterf...

@MovieReel No. I'm not going to edit your horrid question. It's not worth it.

3:39 PM
@Catija These weird bursts are starting to annoy me too. However, you're forgetting that typos, undetailed questions and OPs blatantly ignoring the rules are not exclusive to ID. We just tolerate it more when it's non-ID. And there actually have been some good ID lately alongside the bad, there's just a lot of it all of a sudden for some unfathomable reason...

@Walt I know but there's so much wrong with that question. Using numbers for words, not capitalizing, stream of consciousness, wishy-washy "maybe" phrasing.

You forgot 'not able to do simple math' :P

Granted, some of the ID questions we got recently were actually not that bad. And this specific one was largely just awfully worded (though, details aren't that ubundant either).

Thanks @Walt for the bounty :D

@Catija 3 down, 20 to go ;)

3:48 PM
Why 20?

@Walt Woah. You have a list of questions you're offering bounties on? That's cool. I guess you've got a lot to spare. It's really nice of you. It also made me realize that, in the iOS app, sometimes the bounty reason doesn't show up. I need to remember to check on Meta to see of someone's already posted that.

Because I'm weirdly methodical :)
http://movies.stackexchange.com/users/4386/walt?tab=bounties
Those were the first 3

@Walt So 23 is plays perfectly into your method.
@Walt Who isn't?

@TomCody Yeah, let's pretend that film never existed

@Walt I assume you mean the Jim Carrey one and not the excellent German one with August Diehl as hacker in the 80s.

3:54 PM
@Catija Actually, it'll take me some time to come up with more. Going over old questions in reverse (got to April). Probably won't be your last bounty from me, you have some really good, comprehensive answers
I'm way behind in giving something back

@Walt Awww, thanks :D I don't answer a ton but, when I do, I try to make them good.

Q: Bounty reason gone

ArceusMaster0493I think the bounty's reason and the addition information by the bounty offerer is missing in the info box. Is this a bug? Or is it intentional?

Well, that answers that question, I guess.

I'll have to pick the two 150 and one 200 bounties with care

@Walt Why those numbers? Please help me to understand your method.

@TomCody Sorry, I thought it was clear
I'm giving back exactly what I got :)
(and keep it up if I get more, of course)

@Walt I didn't get it either because I'd not looked at your bounties received list. That's a really cool method.

4:01 PM
@Walt What do you mean "exactly what you got"? I don't understand it.
AAAAHHHH, you should have linked hereto.

@TomCody Oh, right. Sorry

> How much time the teams get varies: Each team of magicians, whether wizards or challengers, was given information about the props beforehand, and then given a set amount of time to actually produce and rehearse the act. [...] The show makes it seem like the tricks are created between act breaks, in maybe an hour or two. Penn said “that’s so unimportant. [...] It’s still improvisation.”

@Catija That's... from one of the bounties I got, I think

This reminds me of Iron Chef. Apparently they give the contestants a list of three possible "secret ingredients", so they're able to plan 15 dishes ahead of time and then execute the ones that actually are the secret ingredient.

Iron Chef is still going?

4:04 PM
@Walt The US one is, I think.

What did I watch last night... Devil's Pass that's right. Front-loaded with stupid ("let's not tell everyone about this thing..", "let's just disbelieve the obvious explanations, without citing any reasonable refutation"), but fun pay off in the story concept and the way it was tied together at the end. Crap quality, and terrible found footage style gags... Not as awful as I expected overall. Still, only for (perhaps bad?) horror lovers. Can't recommend it really

Iron Chef America: The Series is an American cooking show based on Fuji Television's Iron Chef, and is the second American adaptation of the series, following the failed Iron Chef USA. The show is produced by Food Network, which also carried a dubbed version of the original Iron Chef. Like the original Japanese program, the program is a culinary game show. In each episode, a new challenger chef competes against one of the resident "Iron Chefs" in a one-hour cooking competition based on a secret ingredient or ingredients, and sometimes theme. The show is presented as a successor to the original...

I loved the original. The US one was nice, but nothing beats it

@Walt Yeah, I liked hearing the girls talking in their tiny high-pitched voices. The announcer was great, too... I like America because it's hosted by Alton Brown, who's one of my favorite cooking personalities.

@Catija Oh, ‎Cutthroat Kitchen is excellent
@JimmyHoffa In what bin are you finding these? ;)

4:08 PM
@Walt It's so mean... I couldn't take being on that show... but it's fun to watch. Always waiting for the next hammer to drop.

@Catija He's great there. And a joy to watch professional chefs forced to make crap.

They did bring at least one of the chefs over to Iron Chef America.. Morimoto was on the original.

@Walt like I said before, you can't love horror without loving bad horror... also, you can't watch as much horror as I do without watching nearly all of it you can find..
I already filter out slashers, that just means more terribad must sit in it's place

@Walt With teeny tiny utensil sets. Some of my favorite ones are when they have to use the kid's kitchen. Or they can't taste.

@JimmyHoffa I assume you've already seen P2?

4:10 PM
Or they have to make pasta without... pasta.

@JimmyHoffa I dunno, I like my horror either good or the worst ever

I love when they screw themselves over by not getting all of the ingredients they need in the pantry.

@Walt have you seen The Signal (not the morpheus one) ? :)
@TomCody this is completely unfamiliar to me... is a slasher?

@Walt Clearly, the $2 bin at Target. Home of all the crappy horror films.

@JimmyHoffa Remind me
@Catija Yeah, what I meant. I wasn't being British :)

4:14 PM
I've only ever won a single bounty of 50. So by that method I've already given back 2,300 too much.

The Signal makes everyone go crazy everywhere all at the same time, and as it get's worse people are becoming delusional - killing people then thinking they came back type stuff. Mainly it's about a chick who cheated on her boyfriend, goes home only to find everyone at her apt has gone insane and her boyfriend is an exterminator who somehow figures out she's cheating on him, then the whole movie is the guy she's cheating with trying to protect her from her crazy boyfriend, meanwhile they're all going nuts and becoming more and more delusional while operating with the goals of kill, survive,

@TomCody Hmm, so I guess I'll have to give back about 90k

@Walt you say "very bad", The Signal sort of qualifies in it's unbelievable bizarreness.

@JimmyHoffa Extreme bizarreness might draw me in too, yeah

@Walt it has it in spades. Watch if you haven't before.

4:19 PM
@JimmyHoffa I'll try to cram it in my list somehow

haha :) Yeah, no doubt it's quite full; plus good luck finding it anywhere...
especially with the fact that in 2014 there was a movie headed by morpheus by the exact same name... This one is going to surely disappear to time from being obscured if not for being a total unknown to begin with
Lawrence Fishburn! I finally remembered his name! Yay me!

I feel like that Trial by Combat question might get some interesting answers from History.SE... not that it needs to be there, but it'd be interesting to see if some history people had thoughts on it... though it's possible that some of them have seen it as it was likely a HNQ.

@Catija You could advertize it in their chatroom.
@Catija Just don't flag it as "move to history:SE?", I've already declined that. ;-)

@TomCody Well... as you may have guessed from my initial comment, I don't really think it's a good question as it's clear that he didn't even try to look it up on Wikipedia.
@TomCody Really? Someone flagged it to move? That's funny.

@Catija Someone who should actually know way better, but so much to that.

4:25 PM
@JimmyHoffa :23384791 I'll store it between Human Centipede Final Sequence and Acid House

It could certainly be rephrased to make it less "I didn't do any research-y"... but it's better than ID.

@Walt eww... I've not watched, nor intend to watch Human Centipede. Also The Signal is not a gore movie at all.

@JimmyHoffa But it is the worst ever, so my hands are tied
let me rephrase that

@Walt if you want bizarreness that is actually a spectacular movie despite all indications it's going to be awful: Midnight Meat Train

@JimmyHoffa Saw most of it
(the last hour, I think)
Lots of CGI blood

4:28 PM
Did that pack the bizarreness you were looking for? I just recall the atmosphere throughout and the story being unexpectedly weird and creative

@JimmyHoffa Not even remotely, sorry :)

bah! You're wrong! Alternatively, maybe I just like bad horror... :)

I mean Holy Mountain \ Eraserhead kind of bizarre. Or at least a Braindead kind of nuttiness

I have seen none of those save for the first 10 minutes of Eraserhead which just made me too bored to go on

@TomCody Do you have any guidance... I see a lot of people putting sections in their questions or answers that are essentially explaining their edits... which is what the "edit summary" is for... have you seen anything about the ettiquitte of removing these unnecessary text info? Example:
0
A: Correct use of "Belong" in English Sentences

TBridges42B) and C) are correct. "To belong" is a verb, and does not require "is/was" to make it a predicate clause. In C) had would be more correct, and is used here to signify that it was an ongoing action that ended in the past. Edited to add I think it's possible that this is confusing you because of...

4:34 PM
@Catija What do you mean exactly?

@JimmyHoffa Aww, so you weren't there for the miracle of baby hippo birth
@JimmyHoffa Hang on, you never saw Braindead?

@Walt don't think so...

@TomCody I see people add bits at the bottom of questions or answers explaining their edit. Like in the example I linked to. That example's not quite what I'm talking about but it's similar.
It seems like unnecessary text to me.

AKA Dead Alive. Look it up. Peter Jackson was much more fun once.

@Walt like Lord of The Rings Peter Jackson?

4:35 PM
@Catija Do you mean stuff like "EDIT: ..." or "UPDATED 2015-08-12: ..."? I often see people removing those and I think rightfully so, but I don't bother so much with that myself. (And I used those "EDIT: ..." things in the past, too).

huh, perhaps I'll take it out for a spin at some point

@JimmyHoffa Yup. Except his earlier films are a little different :)
@JimmyHoffa Be sure to find the full version, though

@TomCody Yeah.

Here's another example

But generally, yeah, they're rather superflous, especially since a post is always to be judged the way it currently is.

@Walt the name just reminded me of a silly ass horror from the past year where all the dead start coming back around a town... What was that called... Some teenager in love with his girlfriend, she dies, she comes back, and slowly gets less ok... eventually turning into a zombie... hmm

4:38 PM
@JimmyHoffa With Aubrey Plaza
Life After Beth

@TomCody But at some point a question shouldn't be edited in a major way as it can make answers wrong... but that's a separate issue.

However, in rather rare cases it can be useful to point out in an answer that a section is adressing a significant update of the actual question. But since major question extensions are to be discouraged in the first place, this should be rather rare.

yeah. That was silly fun

Yeah. A bit disappointed with it, thought it would be much funnier than it actualy was

@Catija Indeed.

4:40 PM
@Walt aye, though it had some really good parts, and the whole stove gag was just hilarious.

@JimmyHoffa Really? I thought that bit really dragged.
<snare>

heh, it had all the elements to be really hilarious, but they definitely dropped the ball. All the same, it had some good larfs.

It was kinda disjointed. Plaza's usually fun, though

@Walt Needed a lot of help. I was disappointed with it, too.

Q: Will Deadpool break the fourth wall?

ToukoIn the cartoon Deadpool is knowing that it's a cartoon. How will they do it in the movie? Did they say anything about this in an interview I missed maybe?

Current events? Really? It's coming out soon and people are talking about it all over the place. Seems like a reasonable question, considering he's asking for any articles that reference it.

@Catija Feel free to comment and "Leave Open" accordingly.

@TomCody I am trying to figure out how to phrase it. I do think the accepted answer is problematic as it's quoting information from 2009... which has no bearing on the actual outcome. Just because someone planned that in 2009 doesn't mean that it actually happened in the final cut.

I think Ahhh!!! Zombies!!! was pretty great, definitely better than Life After Beth. Of course Tucker And Dale vs. Evil wins the prize for best comic zombie movie ever though. Shaun Of The Dead get's credit for being the first, but it still can't touch Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

@JimmyHoffa Um, there are no zombies in Tucker & Dale :)

@Walt indeed... going to have to look through this..

4:54 PM
I guess most people base their close-vote on the fact that he just has to wait for the movie to know it with 100% security. But I agree that this isn't really what amounts to "current events".

@Walt ...I am utterly remembering it wrong. gads, my memory really is feschnickette. What was the scare? I thought some college folk died and came back...

@TomCody Which leads back to my Meta question... which we still haven't figured out what to do about.

@Catija Indeed.

@JimmyHoffa It's a reversal of slasher flicks. Group of teens come across a couple of rednecks, but the teens are (unknowingly) the bad guys.

oh yeah
n/m, Ahhh!!! Zombies!!! it is
never watched that one where zombies were kept as pets... anybody see that?

4:57 PM
I love Tucker & Dale, but always thought a different title might make it even better. It spoils the twist and seems pretty lazy
@JimmyHoffa More than one, I reckon

@Walt What twist? The entire premise of a movie doesn't really count as twist, does it?

So what?
Why not call "Cabin in the Woods" "Fake Cabin Being Monitored By God Worshipping Lab Guys in the Woods", then

@Walt Well, that is a twist (especially since the average viewer, including me, doesn't seem to know this beforehand).
But do you really think anyone considered Tucker & Dale vs Evil to be a genuine serious hillbillie horror movie?

@TomCody I dunno, I'm just saying it would've been better if they thought that was the premise

Hmm, sure.

5:03 PM
@TomCody The movie pretty much sets up this twist in the first few minutes, IIRC, so why waste it

Meh, whatever.

@TomCody I forgot we differ on spoilers

@Walt In which way? And in which way is this relevant here? You seem to assume I advocate not caring about spoilers.

I thought you were more blase about them
Maybe I'm remembering wrong

@Walt Which doesn't mean I'd impose that on others.

5:11 PM
@TomCody Sure, why would you?

If you say the premise isn't downright clear from the initial outset of the movie, then sure, avoiding it in the title might be a good idea. I don't remember it well enough to confirm this and went into it knowing the premise. That's why the "whatever" comment, which didn't say "I don't think spoiling it in the title is a problem for anyone" but "I don't know if its a spoiler and don't care about the discussion anymore". Maybe this wasn't clear from that rather short comment, I admit.
@Walt Oh, do we? ;-P

@TomCody .........Tucker & Dale rocks, anyway. Moving on ;)
@TomCody Oh come on, that's got to be common knowledge by now. But if not, by all means delete it

I don't care enough to delete it. I more or less deduced something like that from the few bits I knew about the movie anyway.

oh btw I think I figured out what The Evil Dead ripoff that came out around the same time as the remake was:
Wither (Swedish: Vittra) is a Swedish 2012 horror film directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund, who wrote and produced the film along with David Liljeblad. The plot follows a group of young Swedes who travel to an abandoned cabin over the weekend. The cabin turns out to be the home of a Vittra, and the friends have to fight for their lives, aided by the hunter Gunnar (Johannes Brost). The film was marketed as the first Swedish zombie film shown in cinemas and was incorrectly stated by several Swedish newspapers as being the first Swedish zombie film. The first Swedish zombie film is Die ...

@JimmyHoffa I could swear I wrote exactly that

5:16 PM
@Walt then maybe you found it and pointed it out to me :)
I recall it being a better than the remake and more true to the original; it even had the classic zombie-peeking-from-the-trap-door scene
Did the remake have a fair bit from the zombies perspective when it was peaking from the trap door and as it was sneaking around and going after people?

Maybe I'm remembering some other chat post or ID Q
@TomCody Surprised you haven't seen it yet. It's pretty nice
@JimmyHoffa Never bothered with it
There's only 1 Evil Dead as far as I'm concerned (OK, 2)
(Army of Darkness kind of being its own thing)

@Walt Hmm, I heard mixed things about it. I have no doubt I'll enjoy it, but I just never got around to watching it in the cinema/DVD-rental, especially since I don't actively seek out horror movies and didn't yet catch it on TV (if it even was there already).

half the problem in recalling evil dead references around the time of the remake is I went back and watched the two originals, and the remake, plus another one (I think) in the same couple of weeks...

@TomCody It's kind of genre-bending. As long as you don't actively dislike horror, you'll probably like it. Add it to your list under Princess Bride:)

never seen Princess Bride? That's just silly.

5:28 PM
@JimmyHoffa We chose to forgive him :)
Might catch a movie, or tend to that giant mound of unanswered ID. Catch you guys later!

5:47 PM
@Walt Inconceivable!

6:07 PM
@Walt Oh, I've seen that already now.
It was a nice movie for sure. But something tells me that humungous cult significance it enjoys is largely just for the sake of its own (or nostalgia for that matter).

7:01 PM
@Catija Well, it's probably not even necessary to advertize it anyway. The votes suggest it's way hawt!

7:26 PM
@TomCody its going to be closed 4 vote already........
It should be kept

@AnkitSharma I don't think it should, though.

ahhhh.....
I might raise a meta then...
;)
Or support @Catija if she does :)

I should have removed it from the close queue earlier, I just skipped it.

I don't even see it in the close vote queue. So I can't vote to "leave open"... not that I'm sure that has any effect.

@Catija I've pushed it out of it with my "Leave Open".

7:36 PM
@TomCody Ah. OK. It still shows four close votes... does your "leave open" overrule a fifth close vote should it happen?

@Catija No, it just pushes it out of the queue, like 3 "Leave Open"s from normal users do.

@TomCody Ah, I see. So if someone visits the question and independently votes to close, it will still get closed?

@Catija Indeed. I can't (and shouldn't anyway) completely block questions from closing.

@TomCody But you can still choose to reopen if it does get closed? Or would you also avoid making that choice?

@Catija I can, but I'm not sure I'd do that unilaterally. At least it would be more motivation to engage that meta question more seriously.

7:41 PM
@TomCody True. I do think it's something we should really think about because, personally, I'm OK with questions looking for answers, even about films that haven't been released yet... provided they're not asking for people to speculate. Provided that the question clearly asks for inside sources to corroborate an answer, there's nothing wrong with the question... and if it can't get answered until someone sees the film (or a sneak peek), so be it.

7:52 PM
@TomCody I'm going to submit a pretty major edit to that question... if you want to look at it to make sure I've not gone overboard, that would be appreciated.

@Catija Sure, how to, though?
That being said, you could as well wait for it to be closed until significantly changing it (afterall, I think it works as it is already).

@TomCody Mostly a title change and a stronger request for sourced information, plus some examples of his behavior.

Well, aesthetically I would have made the images smaller (or rather just put them next to each other). But that's just me, who can't stand posts where you're getting smashed screen-sized images right into your face.

I probably should have waited for it to be closed and used it as a reopen edit but... I'm going to be away from the computer for a while
@TomCody I made the images smaller but the text in the image is important and if it's too small, it won't be legible.

Well, now one of the images is so small you can't read it.
What about just putting them next to each other at full size and letting the browser do the shrinking, while still having links to the full-size version.

7:58 PM
@TomCody Does that work? I've not had much success with it.

But alas, I can't find the bigger images in the revision history.
@Catija It does, but of course you have to place them next to each other manually.

@TomCody Doesn't seem to be working for me. Perhaps there's a coding thing I'm missing.

And manually, of course means, in the same image. Anyway, I'll just do that (and rephrase the title, so that "yes, he doesn in scene X" in 1 year will also be a valid answer.

But I have to take my cat to the vet so if you want to keep playing with it. It just got closed and I voted to reopen.

I revised it a bit.

Q: TV Movie about giant muppets holding a little person prisoner

BeoAnyone know the name of this movie, or what story it was derived from? This movie appeared on PBS somewhere between 1988 to 1993. The story was about a knight (played by some real life little person) being held by giants (portrayed by giant 7' tall muppet-type things similar to what Jim Henson ...

@Catija You should have waited with the edit, especially since it got closed minutes after your edit. Now the reopen queue just show some insignificant half-edit.

1 hour later…
9:22 PM
@TomCody There was no way to know when that fifth vote would have come. It could have come never.

9:39 PM
@TomCody @AnkitSharma @iandotkelly If you were able to cast regular close votes, would that be something you would take advantage of? It seems really shortsighted for SE to give mods a close hammer but encourage them not to use it unless absolutely necessary... and then not give them the ability to cast a normal close vote.
I'd ask about it on Meta.SE but it seems wrong for me, a non-mod, to ask about something that relates to mods specifically.

@TomCody I've been thinking about it for a while and I just saw that topic now. I just commented on it, too... though I don't think we're necessarily talking about the same exact thing. I think my thought is what the link Bluefeet posted is asking.
How is a question with so many upvotes still not implemented? I don't get it.

@Catija Yeah, they're a bit overlapping. And pushing into the queue isn't really stating your own opinion about on-topicness. But it would help to a large degree, like with that deleted+closed question I revised recently, but which probably noone noticed:

Q: Who is supposed to be loved/hated more, Bassam Al-Fayeed or Jamal Al-Fayeed?

moviesaddictIn the 2014 TV show "Tyrant" I'm not sure who the writers are wanting us to love or hate. Whereas it appears that Bassam is the protagonist, about midway though the show, the twist they throw in completely alters the entire dynamics. It seems that partway through, they changed their minds and wan...

@TomCody I don't know anything about that show, so I'm not much help.

@Catija Me neither.

I don't understand... they decline the request but don't explain why???

Q: Add a way for moderators to cast a normal, non binding close/open vote

Andreas BoniniI think moderators should have the ability to cast a normal, non binding close and open vote like they were a normal user (while of course retaining their ability to cast a binding vote where necessary). This can be used in "grey areas" where a moderator can choose to give his or her opinion, bu...

Am I missing an answer explaining why they declined the request??? Or do they just refuse to explain? I get that the question's five years old but there's no reason for them to refuse to allow mods to have the same abilities as a 3K user.

@Catija That beign said, I'm also not sure a non-binding close-vote is really necessary. Afterall you're just one little part of the community and there should as well be 5 others instead of 4 behind your personal opinion or it doesn't matter anyway. Though, the flagging/queue-pushing thing is really a different and very useful thing.

@TomCody But if you had a single vote, you could cast it whenever you wanted without worrying about waiting until you're the last vote.

10:09 PM
@Catija Sure, but pushing into the queue without voting is even better I think. An actual vote comes with all the intricacies of "why not just close it when you think it should", while for flagging/queue-pushing you do not even have to have an opinion on the matter, apart from the one that the community should sort it out.

@TomCody I'm not sure why you don't want to include yourself as a "member of the community"... you are one, for all that you're a mod.

Sure, but the flagging thing is just way less controversial and intricate. Is all I'm saying.
And if I don't have an opinion on the matter (which can of course happen, for me as for any other user), I might still want the community to notice it.

@Catija quite good response but still pending request

@AnkitSharma It's not pending... it's

F$%^ why?
I don't know what harm it can ever cause.

10:19 PM
@AnkitSharma I don't either.

I will just wait for 3 reopen vote only
Then i will open it

Q: What is the pink thing on the Sherman tank?

UtrechtWhen the Fury tank enters the town, a pink object is visible on the tank. What is that?

I guess I missed my chance to close as trivia. I didn't even think about it when the question was originally asked and now it's too late.

@Catija And I'm glad you did so, I guess.
@AnkitSharma Is that question actually about Reality TV (and is that show even Reality TV at all?)?

@TomCody Why? There's no implication that the pink thing in any way matters to the story.
@TomCody What are competition shows?

Meh, I'm not a big fan of "trivia" closes anyway.

10:28 PM
@TomCody is reality tv diffrent then reality show

@Catija I don't know. But I'm not sure they're Reality TV. But anyway, biggest point is if the question is about relaity TV in the first place (which I'm not sure since I haven't read it, seemed to be about cameras, though).

@Catija it was in close queue but i skipped it

List of reality television series, by general type, listed with the date of their premiere. A few details are added for some shows that don't have their own article. See reality television for further descriptions. == Documentary style == In this genre, camera crews follow the daily interactions of people in ordinary places, such as airports or restaurants, or follow people in a specific profession. Up series (began with Seven Up! in 1964) (UK) An American Family (1973) The Family (1974) (UK) Sightings (1991) Sylvania Waters (1992) (Australia) The Real World (1992) The Living Soap (1993) (UK) Road...
Seems to be on that list.

better to be removed
no more meta

Well, now that I read the question, it seems entirely about film techniques with no relation to reality TV anyway.

10:30 PM
After adding images answer seems good too and i might opt out from answering
Even when technique question are my fav

@AnkitSharma It doesn't actually answer the question, though... It's just a list of possibilities and the question is specifically asking what they actually use.

@Catija I have seen that crane camera reality shows
And its a bit generic answer but not bad to me

@AnkitSharma The crane is the obvious answer, from my point of view... which is why I made the comment that I did.

That's why it took time for me to come up with answer
That ist thing were easy approach but not bad either
crane+steadicam they say
but not valid as source

@AnkitSharma Steadicam is great if you don't have an audience... not so good when your camera ops are getting in the way of the judges' views.

10:37 PM
Meh, I've done enough in proof reading that question, I'll let you tech-fans sort out the answers.

A: Let moderators move posts to review queues

PythonMasterI disagree with you. New and often active questions get the active members of the community to view the questions and judge whether off-topic or not/needs to be dealt with or not. There is really no use of the button if there is a small amount of good or even possible reviewers. If you want the ...

WTF? Why would you open a new meta question for every regular question you think needs attention when you could instead simply flag it?

Good night........hopefully deadpool question will be reopened without me
Anyways i always disliked the forth wall breaking

Well, I'm sure most of the time it's probably just awfully pretentious and has had its time after the 4th instance already.

11:00 PM
Drgh, I know that movie, but the hell I'm not answering that crap.

11:41 PM
Did someone turn the questions feed off?

@Catija Well, the last 3 questions were closed as off-topic pretty fast. ;-(
Maybe fast enough to not be posted by the bot (if he respects that at all).

@TomCody The "So you think you can dance" question never showed up...

But ok, that dancing camera thing should definitely have made it.

If you have chat bot questions do those go to the site's meta or to the SE Meta?

@Catija I don't know. But I'd guess it's just a temporary problem anyway. (but granted, if you want someone who can actually solve a bug also notice it, you might not have that much success when asking it on our meta. ;-))

11:46 PM
@MovieReel This is the last Movie Reel post, at 10:06 UTC... that's over 8 hours ago.

Oh, now that's someone who knows how to ask an ID question. I feel downright flattered.

Never mind. I'm just an idiot. I still think it's interesting to have so much rep on MSE and so little rep anywhere else.
Now we can just wait for @Walt to answer the best ID question ever asked.
