It seems that beta-function was created recently.
Also a tag-excerpt was created.
At the moment, the tag has 4 questions: 1, 2, 3, 4.
Some time ago there was a discussion on meta about introducing this tag:

The outcome of the voting there is that such tag is not needed.
What is the best thing to do now?
Should I simply follow the results of that meta discussion and remove the tags from the new questions?
Or should I start a new thread on meta?
Or should I simply understand the fact that nobody objected against the new tag as a sign that the view of this tag has changed since then?
If this is the case, the tag should probably be added to the questions proposed in that meta post.
