Its generally better to just level up everything, get hero souls and ascend

@StrixVaria If you leave it on Auto-Progress it will try the boss and when it fails it will go back a level

so you lose 30s if you cant take the boss out

Its not that bad of a deal overall

And so far today Ive been so busy I have been making the things level up to where just flat DPS can take out the bosses :D

Hmm, if I get an EOY bonus I suppose my next step will be a new graphics card, that's definitely the weakest link of my system. Damn technology and its ability to improve. shakes fist

You have to ascend 1-2 times to see it though (I think its once)

So Styx is a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying it. The controls aren't nearly as bad as some of the reviews have been saying. For starters, there is a way to drop and grab a ledge. You just need to approach it slowly, and when you fall off you'll do it automatically. I'd prefer abutton press, but it's better than nothing. A few reviewers didn't even seem to realize thisd existed, and to be fair, I didn't until I looked online. I guess it was mentioned in the tutorial, but I didn't see it.

I don't find the ledge detection to be that bad either, really. It does require skill though, since it's free form jumping which adds some platforming aspects to it. As for grabbing ledges when jumping to them, it's pretty solid in my experience. You just need to face the ledge and not grab it at the wall.

Could be a bit better, but it's certainly not game breaking like some reviewers said. More of a minor annoyance than anything. Definitely something you adapt to fairly quickly.

In fact one comment I just stumbled across put it well I think: "I've found that the controls are totally fine AS LONG AS you don't play it like Assassin's Creed or Batman"

If you're a fan of stealth games It's definitely worth picking up IMO.

The only thing to be aware of is that this is a pure stealth game. If you get caught it's essentially death.

You can manage against one foe, but anymore than that and you're basically fucked. In fact I'm playing on the highest difficulty and I can't even get into combat with anyone.

I'm loving it.

And by can't I mean literally can't. The game disables melee combat all together. Only way to kill someone with your dagger is with a sneak attack.

Most of the negative reviews are from people who it's clear just aren't pure stealth fans. Their majors complaints are usually about how poor the combat is, but it's clearly poor by design, to make it so you can't defend yourself well in combat. In fact it's not even bad, really. The way it works is n order to kill someone you need to parry their attack twice, and then hit them again, which kills them. The parrying system just isn't forgiving like it is in batman and what not.

Yoiu need to time your parries very well for them to work, and against multiple foes you don't really stand a chance. So it actually takes, you know, skill.
