Just a test line to see if the system will let me post.
And it did. Everybody can go back to sleep now.

@Terry were you worried you couldn't write in chat?

@Bret Actually I tried a few days back, and it told me I couldn't post because I lacked a reputation of at least 20. Obviously, thought, something has now changed for the better. Perhaps the change was somewhere in my decaying mind. lol
Hmm, I see all these modern text editors mentioned such as vi, vim, emacs and the like. Makes me feel old. Long live teco!

Maybe you just weren't logged in or something like that.

I think I was, and I posted a message on the macro list and was given a number of things to try. I never quite got around to trying any of them, though, and was just about to but decided to just try and post and see what would happen. Whatever, alls well that ends well, at least for the moment.

@ratchetfreak yes, like vim and emacs, once you're hooked, you'll never look back. :)

Anyone following the ZAU shutdown?

4:52 PM
@ratchetfreak true... like Sublime Text, Gedit, Geany. I know, but besides the first one, they all seemed underpowered. Sublime Text kept asking me to buy a license so I just switched to vim. Now I wish I had always used it. Also, I grew up on window$ as well, but after learning linux and finding out how useful the command line is, I have lost my love of gui's. It's just so much faster to type.

Apparently, there's a fire in the Aurora IL radar facility which shut it down. flightclub.jalopnik.com/…

... and looking at it, thats what @abelenky was referring to (I'm not quick with airport codes)

Yeah, thats it.

UPDATE>> Chicago now accepting a trickling of O'Hare arrivals on specific low altitude routings for some already-airborne flights. #revision

ZAU is the code for Chicago Center....
(Its AU, because its located in AUrora, Illinois)
Z is always a Center prefix:
ZKC is Kansas City Center...
ZSE is Seattle Center, etc, etc.

@abelenky Ok that makes things make a bit more sense.
