11:49 AM
@wraith808 Im avoiding replying to you via comment because there's only been discussion on the comment as a result of you questioning my comment in the first place. If I had a better grasp of statistics I would write a here's what you would need, but no really, don't do it because there is no point answer

@DuckTapeAl I had a question about finding friends but I figured it out. Neither of us had actually created our profile on steam.
Morning

12:19 PM
@DampeS8N At the precise font size you use, the 8 in the game keeps looking like a 0 to me with a bar through it
obsoiv
it makes it easy to confuse 8hp with 0hp, or 18 with 10, etc

3.17 days until I finish the 100,000 runner mission.

Also, @DampeS8N: current situation. I am in the Slime City, with 4gp to my name (just bought a weapon upgrade) and facing the True Slime King. if 'abandon' didn't reset my progress, and I was one weapon power lower, i'd be totally boned. Might be good to keep abandon resetting you to the beginning of a quest as a feature.

only resets your progress on that quest I thought

@JonathanHobbs @DampeS8N Maybe leave abandon and add another button that lets you leave and come back?
@JoshuaAslanSmith It does. I think what we are talking about is being able to leave the Runner quests without resetting them.
@JoshuaAslanSmith So if I am actively playing I can do another mission without loosing progress and then return to the runner mission when I am idle.

12:36 PM
@JonathanHobbs That's why I like always having a Deathmarch quest ready for some grinding.

I am now level 1809 and gaining 10SP per level.

I'm at lv3441, also at 10sp/level, and 54xp/sec. Still can't kill the 6 Million Dollar True Slime King.

@lisardggY 6 million dollar True Slime King? What mission path did you find that on?

Slime Attack!

@lisardggY Huh. Maybe Dampe added it after I started the runner mission.
I finally got a weapon upgrade so it only takes 3 seconds per runner now.

12:39 PM
Right now I have Slime Attack!, Deathmarch Four and Overleveled.
@Aaron Yup, same here.
I'll leave it on when I head home soon. I only come back to the office on Thursday, so I'll see how far I get.

@lisardggY I don't have Slime Attack!
Maybe it unlocks as 2000 or something

The question is, do I leave it running on an obscure VM when I leave the project for good, in a week and a half. :)
Leave it running for a year or two.

@JonathanHobbs Agreed, we are looking into new typefaces. Still have not found one that works.

@Aaron It features annoying Slime Captains with ~675 HP each, so it takes a while, even though it's just 50 monsters until boss.

@besw @JonathanHobbs great answers to the warlock question

12:42 PM
@JonathanHobbs I'll leave abandoning resetting the quest until there are also random quests you can always take.

@DampeS8N I assume raising my Magic Power makes Weaken more effective, right?

@lisardggY Not currently.

@JoshuaAslanSmith idk, i'm like, level 35, i have no idea if this doesn't work for other ones
@JoshuaAslanSmith thanks :) his is great, i agree

@lisardggY Currenlty Weaken is a straight 10% reduction in damage.

i notice i have 107hp, and Heal (which heals me for '10%' hp) heals me for 12hp

12:47 PM
@JonathanHobbs Yeah, I noticed it's a bit more than 10%, too.

@JonathanHobbs Heal does gain from magic power.

oh wait, i have magic power: 2
maybe that's where that comes from

10% + magic power

Heals 367 out of 3595, so yeah, that makes sense, with Magic Power 8.

Weaken would be way too powerful if it was boosted by magic power, but I may add it in at something like 10% potency.

12:48 PM
And every subsequent casting does a further 10% off the adjusted score?

@DampeS8N I am! Thanks :D
and now i sleep; goodnight fare folks!

@DampeS8N Hey you should look at my new favorite language.

@JonathanHobbs G'night.

@Aaron Actually, the implore and swear functions are things I'd actually really want in a language...

12:53 PM
@DampeS8N If I do not have the game page open does it slow down? I have a script casting heal every 11 seconds and when I just went back my MP was bottomed out when it should still be maxed still.
@DampeS8N Did you read the Runtime Vigilance part?

@Aaron I'm not cool with it deleting my code, but something that automatically logged non-conforming data, and maybe with a modifier could also auto-pop exceptions would be the bees knees.
Just the logging would make debugging a dream. Especially if it automatically gave each function/method its own file.

@DampeS8N I think this language would make a really good learning tool when you reach the level where you start learning try catches and exception handling.

@Aaron provided one backed up their source code religiously and had good comp tools, yeah

Just something this simple would be really helpful. The problem with contracts in other languages is that they are arcane and overgrown and convoluted.
Just a simple "if this, log that shizz" with a formal and easily visually scanned for format is all that is really needed.
And with the added benefit of specific syntax that can be globally turned on or off in production.

1:15 PM
@DampeS8N Talk about arcane... Some of the applications I support where I work are in VB.

@waxeagle hmm watching last nights video stream now

@JoshuaAslanSmith took me like 2 hours to watch it on my crappy internet connection, but I made it through
some interesting bits, if you scroll way up Magician watched it last night too and had a lot of comments

hmmm will have to check out his thoughts
I wonder which magic item he took issue with in the preview
ah ogre gauntlets

yeah, I'm generally against stat increasing items.

1:30 PM
well considering there are no magic item start rules for 5e so far as we know
and that magic items are supposed to be very rare
or at least much much rarer than 4e

Saying that magic items are rarer in a particular game system than they were in 4e is like saying that nitrogen is rarer on a particular planet than it is on earth.

basically since magic item drops are GM Fiat at this point I feel that you could easily never have the players find this, but its there if you want someone to have it

It's not saying much.

it is a game that encourages rolling stats so having item fixes to level some of that out could be a GM tool

right, but I guess the point is if you can't buy them and you can't start with them, they're easy to leave out of your game

1:32 PM
I do think that their focus on flaws bonds and traits for rollplay and roleplay is good

Wait, 5e encourages rolling stats?
Christ, it does.
Man, that sucks.

in char gen rules it tells you to roll stats then it says or you can use this array
it doesnt force it

yeah, I'll be going point buy/array

its sorta the inverse of 4e in that sense
but yes I will also advocate point buy

That sucks so hard.

1:33 PM
its table/GM discretion

yeah, 4e's PHB has all 3 systems, but said, hey, use the array or point buy. Essentials said: here are the arrays you can use.

in 4e you could be forced to roll stats too

Stuff that is going to permanently affect your character's career shouldn't be decided by die roll like that.
Rolling rather that point buy has always been a thing in d20 related systems, but at least in 4e and PF they put point buy as the default.
It makes me sad that they went back on that.
Same for rolling for HP.

agreed. No sense leaving that to chance.

In the playtest/the current few seasons of encounters Ive offered either take die average or roll the die, your choice
monsters as well you can either roll HP and damage for them as they appear or just use the suggested valeus

1:37 PM
My GM has done point buy/average hp for as long as I've known him.

in theory I like the idea of varied monster HP but its too time consuming

So, on a totally unrelated note:
I answered this question a few hours ago:
7
Q: Choose to increase casting time

shaydwyrmWhen a character casts a buff with a duration of one round as a standard action, the buff expires at the beginning of their next combat round (is this correct?). So they do not get to take a standard action with the effect of the buff. However, if the buff is cast as a full-round action, the spe...

However, someone made the totally valid point that I don't have a citation for my answer.
And now that I look, I can't find one.
Anyone know the place where it actually says when a spell that takes a standard action to cast expires?

@JoshuaAslanSmith If the GM tool has a button for it, I'd be all in
(IE if Iplay4e's monster import had had a "randomize HP" button)

@waxeagle the officially allowed pictures (aka the ones WOTC tooK) of the playtest of morning star it looked pretty slick

@JoshuaAslanSmith yes it did, and the eventual ipad compatibility makes me squee a bit. I want to DM from my ipad

1:44 PM
@waxeagle Depends. If you follow the rules of say, Pathfinder, to the letter, you roll first then select race and class. You let the rolls effect what kind of character you build. But it certainly takes a special kind of gamer to find that desirable.

@waxeagle meh I want android release first/at the same time as Ipad thats all I care about

@DampeS8N makes sense. I'd definitely rather not do it the other way around. I don't want to be locked into a rogue and then not have a 16 to start with
(or similar scenario)

I'm probably also in a minority in that I find nearly all digital tools for GMs to use in game to be distracting to the point of becoming useless. Pre-game tools are awesome though.

@JoshuaAslanSmith fair enough, my main device is iOS right now...
(not really by choice, but I don't complain about free stuff)

my GS3 is my main device obviously tablets are nice, and I understand why many programs/apps launch on IOS first, its a more coherent userbase, but it grinds my gears really

1:49 PM
I also almost always print out stat blocks for monsters and things. Very rarely, and only because I goofed along the way somewhere, will I use my phone or ipad to bring up stat blocks. I almost always prefer to use the books in those cases if the monster I need is in em.

the one thing andriod has going for it in that space is a better way to beta. Sounds like the iOS beta system is cumbersome, where android is a simple opt in and its easy to push
@DampeS8N no iplay4e for you?

@waxeagle haven't use it. But if history is an indicator, I probably won't like it. haha

@DampeS8N its mostly just init/hp with condition tracking. It's pretty nice for the amount of stuff a 4e DM has to keep track fo

@waxeagle so it auto-expires conditions?

actually InCombat is the product I'm describing
iplay4e is the character sheet program (which is also really cool, but not superuseful for table play, much better for online)
@DampeS8N yes
(the two integrate which is cool)
auto applies auto damage, reminds you to save etc

1:55 PM
@waxeagle but doesn't actually save.

@DampeS8N I think it has a button to roll it? we don't use its dice except for monster init though
(you can play with it here: laughterforever.com/inCombat)

Also, it means I can't conveniently forget to remind someone to apply ongoing damage. Hehe
@waxeagle Already am.

@DampeS8N yeah, at our table its a DM only tool, so the Pcs are entered for initiative purposes (and to give the DM cliff notes on defenses), but other than that, they aren't used in any meaningful way. Monsters though usually get conditions applied to them so that there is less tracking (though we do still use visual indicators)

@waxeagle I dunno. I just feel like something gets lost with the addition of digital tools. I'm a programmer, I shouldn't be such a Luddite.

heh, I can get that. I know the 5e games I've run have been no-tools tables and they've gone OK.

2:03 PM
@waxeagle I haven't been able to get a game of 5E together yet. But I really really want to.

I think my first starter set group is going to be some PF players from my alma mater. Wife is already talking it up to them
Don't want to run it for my regular group until I have my legs under me in the system more. Our non-main stuff can be a handful to run

@waxeagle Do you ever find new players through church or is there still that lingering stigma against DnD?

@DampeS8N thankfully it seems to be ebbing, things like HP and LOTR coming strongly into the public consciousness helps a ton (and WOW/CRPGs too).
Most of my current group is people I went to college with (or family of people I went to school with). And it was a small private Christian school
and I'm working on forming a new semi-permanent group for Horde of the Dragon Queen, the couple I have confirmation on re that is from church

@waxeagle Good, it is about time. I grew up in a very Evangelical/Pentecostal town in Pennsylvania.

@DampeS8N worth noting that the denomination I'm a part of is one of the less legalistic ones too. So that helps...I'd guess that there is still a great deal of fear/stigma in more legalistic populations

2:14 PM
So in additional to being an Atheist and culturally Jewish, my desire to play fantasy RPGs at lunch in school was met with... challenges.

I'd bet.

@waxeagle For sure. That's why I mentioned them specifically. :)

I didn't grow up playing D&D, but heard the rumors about it. All in hushed tones etc. Grew up in a pretty rural, very conservative area (Eastern Shore of MD). I was a bit surprised by my mom's reaction when I told her we had a weekly D&D group after I got out of college: "Oh, I played that in HS"

@DampeS8N I've been trying to refactor the LevelUp code a bit since yesterday: github.com/scgruber/LevelUp

last hour and a half here, going to throw the link in here again: kickstarter.com/projects/crazybricks/…

2:31 PM
@DampeS8N Do let me know if I'm stepping on anybody's toes.

moms will always suprise you like that

@Grubermensch Does this effect saving at all?
nvm, it is mobs it shouldn't effect it at all.

@DampeS8N Yeah, I'm trying to avoid that stuff.
Though my ideal endgame for refactoring is to make it so there is just one object that should be the save state, and get rid of all the complicated logic in your save method.
That's a ways out.

@Grubermensch Keep at it. I'm interested to see where it ends up.
@Grubermensch One note, it is probably a good idea to generate the actual mob objects on the fly. As the game gets bigger, and the mob objects more complex, the overhead of having all the mobs ready to go will become an issue. Especially if they end up doing something like pre-loading the sprite images.
Then we also won't be filling it up with tons of global variables.

2:51 PM
I'll keep that in mind.
Oh, I should push those inside the Mob prototype.

One of my plans is also to move all of the data into external json data files.

Yes, that is how it should be.

Those files can be reloaded on the fly, so new quests, mobs, spells, items, skills, and so on can be loaded into the game without reloading the page.

TBH you can hotpatch Javascript, though that is because Javascript is terrifying

@Grubermensch yeah, I know. I want to avoid that. haha

2 hours later…
5:04 PM
@waxeagle watched the rest of the twitch video, feel sorta mixed about some of the things they talk about. Also so annoyed at grognards being annoyed at fighter 2nd wind

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah, though their explanation of why it can't be abused is meh. they don't seem to be planning for people to optimize...
(though the short rest being an hour certainly helps with that)
I'm thinking I might actually keep a time of day tracker around. One of the things I don't like about 4e (although this rarely matters), is theres never a sense of when in the day things are taking place
it will at least help me set the scene better and keep track of aproximately when things are happening (and probably how much time has passed, as I may have things trigger in the world depending on how much time passes)

good point
Im going to try import fronts from dungeon world into 5e when I start gming seriously

and with hour breaks vs 5 minutes what time of day it is means a lot more

great way to generally organize plots in any system
yeah

I really need to read DW

5:12 PM
everyone was a bit suprised/miffed about the no rest in a dungeon part of the latest encoutners mega dungeon
I was like, if you take a rest, I will be rolling and thers a 90 percent chance a fight breaks out interrupting your rest and forcing you to expend more resources

yep
very differnet mentality from 4e where a rest was a quick regroup. 5e rest is, man I really need a nap

I mean theres a ranger a druid and a cleric at the table
there are heal spells
and they have potiions
haha yep
Im so pyched for tomorrow night though since they are entering the "Displacer beast den"

very nice!

which makes up for them narrowly side stepping the chamber of eyes which had not just 1 wounded beholder but lots of little beholder spawn that had a constant (Every turn) enviromental save

oh wow

5:17 PM
its not a death ray
let me check
also I can send you the mobi of dungeon world which is 100 percent legal thanks to dungeon world's license

you've got my email addy, would love that. Will likely buy anyways at some point

yeah basically I got exposed to dungeon world as a player the exact same way
then bought the digital version when I started gming with it
Ive also bought a few classes made for it on drivethrurpg
@waxeagle there you go

Thanks!
Hmm, I'm almost done with the available e-learning training I have, and probably over a month til I get to start writing code...This is going to be a painful month of trying to look busy

5:33 PM
lol

I think there are a couple of other dev training modules at my disposal, and I can go through the non-programming stuff, but...boring
(MS has put Dev training 1 and 2 up in their e-learning system, but 3 and 4 are only available as documents/slides)

does Brian still drop in here?

@Pyrodante not regularly. Long time no see

howdy

hows the little one?

5:45 PM
hmmmm
yeah Ive got an up to 800 dollar training/improvement budget and I dont know what to do with it

@JoshuaAslanSmith any certs you want?

because I think its generally supposed to be for me as a person but I think the way the department is interpreting it is that I should justify why ti would help me be better at my current position which is bonkers
@waxeagle All the certs?
I have none so any certifications would be better than no certifications
recommendations?

not right off hand, MS certs travel well, but change often
I think there is a generic cyb sec cert out there that might be useful for you

yeah Im looking at "Certified Information Systems Security Professional" from ISC squared
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is an independent information security certification governed by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, also known as (ISC)². As of May 2014, (ISC)² reports 93391 members hold the CISSP certification worldwide, in 149 countries. In , the CISSP obtained accreditation by ANSI ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2003 accreditation. It is also formally approved by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in both their Information Assurance Technical (IAT) and Managerial (IAM) categories for their [http://www.dtic.mil...

sounds legit, I've only really paid attention to the MS dev certs because they're the ones relevant to my career right now

5:49 PM
well the DOD and the NSA like it
yeah I dont want to go into development if I dont have to? I dont have a lot of programming experience Im sure I could just like teach myself a bunch over time etc. I mean I appreciate good programing and can even recognize it, but Im not a good programmer, I'm a jury rigger, as any good technical person should be, but thats the limits of my development skills

@JoshuaAslanSmith thats useful

@waxeagle the little one is awesome

@Pyrodante glad to hear it

good looking boy

5:53 PM
ironically I dodged the bullet on military service during the current president (which as much as I regret not making it through ROTC to become an officer I can appreciate the badness that is serving during a massive draw down) but now that I wanna get into sexy cyberwarfare stuff its also during a massive budget and procurement crisis in the military and gov't

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah...at some point if I stay in town here and am not in school for my masters, I'm going to take a cybsec cycle at Covenant. A couple of years ago they hired a retired Air Force prof to come teach CS and he brought that with him.
and at $33 a credit, I'll take it

6:10 PM
thats cheap lol
I think grad classes at drexel are basically like 300 dollars a credit

it was free, but they had too many grads coming in and not actually taking it seriously, so they started charging something

heh
so online training seminar for that one cert I was looking at was 2800 lol
exceeds my budget
thats for sure

oof

6:26 PM
@waxeagle so do you know how much MS certs cost to take the tests, etc.?

@JoshuaAslanSmith not right off hand, we never got that far down the road with it

gotcha I will checkout the workplace see if theres any existing questions on it

the FAQ I've found says $150 per exam, but most certs are multiple exams

hmmmmm
the good news is that I could probably justify microsoft certs with the budget I have from work
since Im working in a pc heavy enviroment providing support

and a lot of those certs have books for them, so you wouldn't necessarily need to find a class or anything

6:35 PM
yeah Im sure there are plenty of online guides for microsoft certs as well
let me tell ya, job stuff so stressful

7:10 PM

Q: When is a comment not a comment?

wraith808In the help, valid comments are referred to thusly: Use comments to ask for more information or clarify a question or answer. So, that I get... when the question/answer isn't clear, you ask to get more information. But there are a couple of other murkier situations. Specifically, we will ...

@JoshuaAslanSmith I know. I've seriously considered making a change with all the forthcoming change here. Frustrated by a few things here, but overall its too good of a situation to leave

yeah, working on my resume and it looks a little barebones (because professionally Ive only had 2 jobs in the field) and I dont have certs or awards thinking about throwign a course list
not too sure
might post a workplace question abou tit

@JoshuaAslanSmith not a bad idea at all

7:58 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith Thanks.

@besw what is this thanks for lol

@JoshuaAslanSmith click the link!

whaaa I dont know what you are talking about
the oracle meta question?

@JoshuaAslanSmith no, you'd said good job to him about his warlock answer (thats the one he's replying to, see the little arrow thingy?)

yeah it wouldnt show up for me for somereason

8:05 PM
are you on mobile?

no Im on Aurora right now

8:16 PM
@BESW I noticed this earlier

@JoshuaAslanSmith Why was the question referenced in that Meta post (the dice probability one) closed? I don't see anything wrong with it, certainly not clarity.

@Grubermensch General probability question without a direct tie to gameplay probably
(its unclear why they want to know, what they are trying to understand)

@waxeagle Then someone should really change the close description on it. Because that's really misleading.
Or at least leave an explanatory comment. Something.

@Grubermensch unclear is the close reason
its got 3 reopen votes though, with I don't think any edits which is sad

Fine. But what you described to me as the nature of its unclarity is not at all obvious. I imagine OP would have no idea why it was closed.

8:24 PM
The idea is fine, but I've got no clue what they're asking for.

Really>
It seems really clear what they're asking for to me.
"what I'm trying to do is figure out the independent results of each D20 when advantage or disadvantage exists and evaluate them independently of one another against various DCs."
which is exactly what the top answer does

I added a comment to try to guide them towards an edit.

@waxeagle I think that addresses my concerns.

@Grubermensch Well, no. The bit you've quoted is --because it's figuring the dice independent of each other-- just the basic d20-with-advantage probability. The question is also asking for us to "calculate the impacts," whatever that means (it's vague enough that I can think of at least three totally unique ways to answer it). The answer you're pointing at does a lot of math, but without a sense of what the querent's goals are, it's just math.

@BESW "Impacts" came across pretty clearly to me as "effects on rate of success", but I can see how it is a vague formulation of the question.

8:34 PM
At the very least, the question is confusingly worded and could use an aggressive edit for clarity. If you feel all the necessary content is in there already, I invite you to edit it for clarity.

Good evening.

hiya

Yo.
@trogdor For you.

@BESW MUAHAHAHAHAHA erm..... I mean thanks
:P

@Grubermensch I felt (I certainly cant speak to the opinions of others) that while the statistics aspect of his question was clear, the intent behind it was not and thus voted to close for that reason
basically what wax said above
that the OP wasnt saying why and how this would be used for gameplay/roleplay and why the systems as they exist separately were not valid

8:45 PM
@BESW Made what I think is a reasonable clarity edit.
Does not address @waxeagle and @JoshuaAslanSmith concerns, obviously.

@Grubermensch quite all right, that's for the OP really
but more clarity of the existing question is helpful

yeah its a good edit
it doesnt answer for me the why still
thats really for the OP
seems like a lot of dice rolling for what could easily be done as Did you fail but hit the lower DC? partial success/fail forward
he could even simply implement this from the GM side without the players knowing if the DCs in question are secret
Honestly I see it as kludging to very disparate systems together which have almost mutually exclusive mechanical approaches

@JoshuaAslanSmith actually, that is one part of the context that he does talk about
"I find in running that turning all of the dice rolls over to the players and having tiers of success (failure, success with consequence, clean success) makes for a game that's more rewarding for my group's style of play."
Apparently his group likes it that way, though he doesn't go into why exactly.

which sounds like he likes the mechanics of dungeon world, but I want to know why he is trying to bring dungeonworld into D&D 5e instead of just playing dungeon world
they cover almost exactly the same tonal ground
there is a nice big section in dungeonworld about creating and adapting monsters and a similar section for magic items. Anything specifically inherent to D&D could be imported to dungeon world

So, he wants a) tiers of success and b) adding dice to represent advantage/disadvantage. He's got that. He's said why he wants it and he knows his system accomplishes it.
So I don't know what he's asking for from us.
(And yes, why he's not using any of the many systems which already have those features, but some men just want to watch the world homebrew.)
8

8:54 PM
hahahahaha

He seemed to just want to understand the probability effects of adding disadvantage.

that might be right up there with D&D Lies to you and D&D Lies to itself as my all time favorite quotes in this chat

Which is maybe insufficiently RPG-centric for this site

roughly all things being equal (aka after modifiers are calculated a 10 on the die is needed to succeed) +5

@Grubermensch I think it's very much on topic if it's framed properly. "How will adding advantage/disadvantage dice to this system impact my players' success/failure rates" is a good start toward a specific question rather than a general "What's this do?"
Even better would be "...and in your experience how does this kind of change in success/failure rates impact gameplay?"

8:59 PM
@BESW mmmh I don't think maths need experience. Except maybe for understanding the D&D Next range of DCs

Id still probably leave/have written my comment on there because Its an important question to ask the OP

@Zachiel The impact of maths on how players make choices, though...
If failure becomes more reliant on randomness, do they become more reckless (because even careful attempts are liable to fail)? or more cautious (because they want every advantage possible in this uncertain world)?

@JoshuaAslanSmith I do think that your comment comes off as unnecessarily combative.

I just posted on storium but it isn't anything big

@trogdor I like it.

9:03 PM
I dont see it that way and at this point Ill leave it up since there is a meta about it

@BESW It at least "feels" like a small move in Storium has much more weight than saying something short in a tabletop RPG
even if you don't do much/anything mechanically

Maybe I'll answer the meta.

I recently discovered the use of -trix to indicate 'female,' and now I want to be female just to use it. "I'm a moderatrix."

user61230
"I'm a spaceship operatrix."

lol, I have Pneumonia. Awesome.

user61230
@Dampe Hi! Also, that sucks!

I once had pneumonia and bronchotis at the same time

11:17 PM
@Emrakul Hi friend!

user61230
@Dampe Hi friend! I thoroughly enjoy your waiting challenge!

You chipper young mods. Back in my day moderating was thankless and soulcrushing! Ok not really.

@Emrakul Kitfox has used that in her title for a while

@Emrakul I'm glad. :)

user61230
@Dampe Eh, who knows! Since I became a mod two, three weeks ago? Well, I can still count with my fingers the number of flags I've handled.

user61230
11:20 PM
Not quite soul-crushing yet ;P

@Emrakul I think I gave up my mod status that many years ago...

user61230
Where did you moderate?

user61230
@wax That's pretty cool! I like it.

@Emrakul I was a mod pro tem for Science Fiction and Fantasy.

user61230
@Dampe Ah, that's cool! If you don't mind me asking, what motivated you to relinquish powe-- I mean, advance from janitorial duties?

11:24 PM
@Emrakul I was promoted at work and suddenly had work to do at work. :) I didn't run in the election so I don't know if I would have won or not. I served for about a year and a half.

user61230
That makes sense!

@Emrakul But welcome to the club. :)
@waxeagle Do you remember who it was that said that 90% of what happens on StackExchange is the result of people who are bored at work?

user61230
Thanks! :]

@DampeS8N not off the top of my head but I'll attest to it :)

@waxeagle lol
