His tier 1 unit looks really great. The Martyr. They have an ability called "life link" which lets them take all damage for target allied unit.

I might need to do a bit of testing to figure out exactly how it works. I'm assuming it calculates all damage as if attacking the life linked unit, and the martyr just takes damage. However it's possible it just transfers the attack to the Martyr completely, and does all calculations based on it's stats.
