@RebeccaChernoff I don't count, because I'd seen it before ;-)

@RebeccaChernoff i got a 502 proxy error trying to open it

To be clear, I agree with you two. I am just pushing back a little because something seems odd to me if I start flagging half of the comments I see

@RebeccaChernoff — You had to bring Agile into this, didn't you? Still working on that buzz-kill merit badge, yeah? ^_^

@Robusto o: ?

2:00 AM
@JSBangs It worked for me just now

@RebeccaChernoff I'll file it away for later, but I already agree with the point.

@RebeccaChernoff My company uses Rally. I hate it like poison.

@MrHen well it certainly makes a point, doesn't it?

@Dori yeah, i just tried and it's working now

@RebeccaChernoff Sure. I am essentially try to get from you two what I need to survive if I start getting picky
Because I already feel like the strict one

2:02 AM
@MrHen do you really flag that many? i very rarely flag comments, mostly because i expect comments to be a little less serious than the rest of the site, and i thought that was ok

If the site needs cleaning up, clean it up. That's a community effort. Doesn't rely on the mods. (Though sure, deleting comments is mod only...but still)

@JSBangs No, but I want to
@RebeccaChernoff Yeah, but the work wears me out
It gets annoying to be the only close vote on a crap question and watch it gather upvotes
I could be in the minority, which is why I ask chat or meta.

And the answer I always get is, "Meh."

@MrHen bring it up in chat. whenever i see a bad question, i'll post it to chat and beg people to close it

2:03 AM
@JSBangs Yeah. I get people saying, "Meh."

@Shog9, I think @MrHen needs a posse.

Gah, stupid false flag alert again.

I mean, this is what I do here

@RebeccaChernoff He does. He also needs support from the mods.

@RebeccaChernoff my personal site cleanup goal is to be very free with the downvotes. let my disapproval be known and embolden others

2:04 AM
SE sites set up a kind of cognitive dissonance. Everyone knows the system is predicated on votes, and that's supposed to elicit the best answers and questions, but we all know that the most highly voted answers and questions are the ones that work the audience for nudges of recognition.
While journeyman answers get short shrift.

@RebeccaChernoff Heh.

@JSBangs This is where a lot of the stuff on SO got hashed-out early on... (well, IRC, but...) It's much easier to discuss without strong emotion in real-time than it is in comments / meta.

Reg and I did something similar to that a while ago

@Robusto This knowledge should inspire righteous anger within you at the sight of a question that exists only as fodder for pandering

2:06 AM
In fact, these sites look like Whack-A-Meme sometimes.

Speaking of cleanup, could somebody please cast the coup-de-grace on this question?

Q: Internationally understood alternative to "unavailable"

Currently I have the following: This video is unavailable in your country. I feel that many non-English speakers will not understand "unavailable". Do you kn...

@RebeccaChernoff just for the record, we had a Great Retagging a while back that got rid of some really crappy tags that were in our top 10. i personally retagged several hundred questions by hand

that's awesome!

So, anyway, to summarize my frustration: (a) users who just upvote because something makes them feel fuzzy (b) meta's sluggishness in admitting something is a problem and (c) things with an unknown topicality are left alone and never resolved
@JSBangs Yeah, that was awesome

@JSBangs — Props.

2:08 AM
@Martha Voted.

@JSBangs I'd still love to see an end to these being separate tags: taboo, vulgar, offensive, expletives, obscenity, euphemisms, pejorative, swearing, and insults

@Martha — I was first into the breach on that one.

@Robusto Yes, so I see.

@Dori —

On ^^^ question, a quick comment "This is a translation question which does not fit our faq." would be a helpful addition. I leave it as a community exercise if you agree. (:

2:10 AM
@Robusto So long as it's instead of and not in addition to

@Dori hah, yeah, that's on the todo list

I think we should have a "close this question" reason called "@MrHen disapproves" ... ;^)

@Robusto I swear; I'd use it.

@RebeccaChernoff Good idea, comment added.

"Crap"

2:11 AM
@Dori — But of course.

Q: Pioneers Often Die with Arrows in their Backs

PacerierWhat's the meaning of Pioneers Often Die with Arrows in their Backs I mean i can roughly gauge it to be the first to move dies, but why arrows in the backs ?

@MrHen — I would too!

See... this is a good example of a close call
There is sort of an interesting question here, but as asked it just doesn't... help

definitely very marginal

We just have tons of questions in this awkward range

2:12 AM
@MrHen It also has several answers, one of them accepted, and I'm not sure any of them are correct.

And it has 2 upvotes...

@MrHen And that is also an example of a user who has recently been suspended on SO, MSO, and SU for low quality posts

@Robusto nah. This one would be better:
considering a new "Honey badger don't give a s**t" close reason for Stack Exchange. Only partially kidding.
q:

@Dori Heh, really? Interesting.

@MrHen — See, now nobody came even close to the answer on that one. Pioneers die with arrows in their backs because they are fleeing the frontier. That is, they have gone a mile too far and into danger, and die rushing back to safety. It's a cautionary expression meant to discourage people from being on the bleeding edge.

2:14 AM
Ok, I have to go now. Please don't burn the place down in my absence.

@MrHen And for sock puppetry. And for being a… well, you fill in the blank

@Martha — Killjoy.

@Martha I make no guarantees.

@Robusto I live to serve. Or serve to live. Or something.

@Martha — Or live to live. And isn't that a depressing thought?

2:16 AM
ANYway. Szevasztok!

real quick question for the room: what is the preferred cover term for " taboo, vulgar, offensive, expletives, obscenity, euphemisms, pejorative, swearing, and insults"

My preference: deleteable

@JSBangs I like taboo
Etiquette?

@MrHen i was leaning towards . but is the most popular one in the set right now

manners?

2:19 AM
part of the problem is that taboo and obscenity are slightly different things, and the pedant in me wants to keep them separate

I think the closest thing to an umbrella term we have there is .

@MrHen no, we already have , which is not the same thing

@JSBangs Could politeness get absorbed into the same tag?

@Robusto that's good

seems like a great topic for a meta post

2:20 AM
@MrHen definitely not. politeness/rudeness is not the same thing as offensiveness

get a decision, and then act on it too (:

Q: the usage of "otherwise"

JackIn this article, I don't quite understand the following sentence: Instead of bothering to sort out that little difficulty, let's see why it is in fact enough to let B be the set of all bilinear functions to R, otherwise known as bilinear forms. I looked up into the dictionary, but none of t...

Here is another Yoichi style question
@JSBangs Right, so a hypernym for politeness and offensiveness, perhaps?

Q: You are in Jonathan's circles "too" or "as well" or "also"

PhilI just read on Google+ that: You are in Jonathan's circles too But I always thought that you couldn't use too there. Am I wrong? (because Google can't be wrong, right?)

Apr 30 at 0:25, by Robusto
I wish you could edit the close message to say "Nuked from orbit by Robusto, RegDwight."

Oh, hey, a real question for you guys. If I find an old question that should probably be closed, obviously voting to close it won't do jack. Do I post a link here in chat? Flag it? Both?

@RebeccaChernoff in the past i've been much more likely to ask here on chat and act based on that. is this a problem? most of the regulars are in here most of the time, and i get answers much more quickly this way
@MrHen both

@JSBangs Having a record of the conversation is nice. :)
Searching chat for it would be kind of annoying...

anyway, continuing @RebeccaChernoff, am i actually contributing to the problem by eschewing meta and going straight to chat?

@JSBangs I get the temptation to do that, but it is a bit of a chicken and egg problem.
If you ignore meta as well, how can you fault anyone else for doing the same?
While the transcripts exist, it isn't as obviously archived and searchable as the meta site is.

I find Meta discussions to be distasteful in the extreme.

Discussing it in chat is fine, but I would strongly encourage you to then make sure the gist of it is available in a meta post for the community to vet, and even just to see.

2:25 AM
@Robusto Why?

i feel sort of the same as @Robusto. plus our meta isn't very active, while our chat is very active
@RebeccaChernoff this is probably a good idea, though

@MrHen — Because you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and this was my first impression:

Q: Why are comment lists abridged in the middle?

RobustoIn longish lists of comments the list gets abridged and a "more comments" link shows up at the end, kind of like an ellipsis. Normally, one would expect that such a list would be trimmed at the end, but on English.SE (and possibly on other SE sites) the elisions can occur anywhere in the list. F...

Also, the community team closely watches the meta sites across the network. We may pop into chat rooms, but we don't follow them as closely network-wide.

I am assuming that I should flag comments such as those on this question:

We want to know what's going on too. (:

RobustoWe've been getting a rash of questions asking, essentially, what a programmer should name methods or properties. One such was a request for a word that meant both "add" and "remove" because the programmer wanted to have a method that could add or remove an element. Does this really fall under E...

@MrHen — No, because I got bum-rushed and bullied, and I felt then the way @Kosmonaut felt today.

@MrHen Definitely at least vote to close it yourself so that it appears on the list that 10k'ers can see in the tools section. Flagging and posting here is also ok.

@RebeccaChernoff Mmk.
@Robusto Oof, I agree that that comment war was ridiculous

2:29 AM
@RebeccaChernoff — Which brings up ANOTHER question about the "tools" section.
1
Q: Spurious flag notices?

RobustoLately I go to the main page and see a large quantity of flags in the little notification box at the top of the page, like this 53 flags is a lot, right? Like, an emergency maybe? So I click on it and there is one single flagged item: What gives? Is this FAD or a bug of some kind?

Which was the first inkling we had that all was not joy in Mudville.

@MrHen yikes, yes you should. that comment chain is ugh.

And still I see these spurious flag notices, so the effect is that NOW I don't even bother clicking on them. Fool me once, or twice, or thirty-three times, shame on you. Fool me 150 times, shame on me.

@RebeccaChernoff Should I flag the beginning of the chain? Or where things go bad... ?
(This is me learning.)

I'm still here, just reading and trying to make sure I answer everything. (:

As in, if I flag a comment as too-chatty, is the rest of the chain looked at?
@RebeccaChernoff Thanks, by the way. I'll be sure to keep tagging you on irrelevant remarks such as this ;)

JSBangsCurrently we have tags for all of the following: taboo, vulgar, offensive, expletives, obscenity, euphemisms, pejorative, swearing, and insults This is a bit... excessive. So I'm now accepting suggestions for a word to bundle all of these together and avoid so much duplication. Also mention any...

@Robusto I'm going to hold off on answering this for the moment, simply because I want to look at the code and research my answer first, just fyi. (:

Err, I have to head out. Food or something.

Sleep or something here.
Laterz.
And thank you all for your support. I will go take my PTSD meds now.

yeah, big thanks to @Rebecca and @Dori for coming by and listening to our grips. i no longer feel like TPTB hate us

@MrHen You've got a few options. You could flag the post itself for moderator attention - comments like that could indicate a problem with the post too. You could flag a single comment for mod attention and explain that the comment chain should be looked at. You can flag each comment. You can flag a single comment as too chatty and hope your moderators are good enough that they look at the other comments as well.
Generally when I see a flag, I'll look at the entire page while I'm at it, but that's just me, I can't speak for everyone.

intellidiotIs there any difference between these two? Do (suppose) technical knowledge and technical know-how convey different meaning?

@RegDwight And I don't even know what to say to that, other than it seems Rome can be destroyed in a day.

Q: What's the connection between "Holy Grail" and the "Killer Rabbit"?

PacerierWhat's the connection between the Holy Grail and the Killer Rabbit? I was reading this article: http://www.jurriaanpersyn.com/archives/2009/02/12/database-sharding-at-netlog-with-mysql-and-php/#databasesetup2 and they are saying If there's a Holy Grail, there's a Killer Rabbit. OK, I can unders...

This includes references to Monty Python, Monty Python equals fun, therefore, this is off-topic (?)

What does that have to do with English?

@z7sg That aside, and most importantly, seemingly, for the reason I just gave, this is why it must be off-topic ...there are, however, so many reasons.
Thing is, based on the input from the transcript of this room over the previous day, I can legitimately flag nigh every question on the front page.
And mostly as 'General Reference', due to the 'too basic' clause.

Clearly the question was created solely to regurgitate a Monty Python joke. It's fine to make Python references in the answers to a legitimate question though.

10:13 AM
@z7sg You'd think so, right? I wouldn't feel so secure in that belief any more, though.

I am a peasant with fewer than 10,000 points, therefore I do not involve myself in mod wars.

Well, then I'm the equivalent of a homeless bum, with less than 3k here - I don't intend to get caught up in any 'war', but I do care to contribute to the community for the better, if possible. We're still lacking accurate enough definitions for me to conclude exactly what actions might do that (or, we're not, and then by the non-ironed out definitions discussed here, we can close and / or delete most everything.)

Although I hate to see Kosmonaut leave as I have a lot of respect for his knowledge and mad skillz.
That to my mind is a far greater loss than allowing a few frivolous questions, whichever side of the argument you might stand on.

@z7sg Granted, that strikes me sore, too, but I'm not really into mutiny or anything, and intend to do what I can to save this ship (in doing so, we might just be able to get such excellent people back / to stick around.)

10:33 AM
@RegDwight — Awww, f*ck. That seriously sucks. Is there no talking him out of it?

Jez
@MrDisappointment I don't have much time so could you give me the gist of the transcript over the previous day?

11:03 AM
@Robusto Ditto. I wish I could help, but I'm still talking myself out of buggering off.

Kit
11:25 AM
@Rhodri You'd be the last person I'd expect to give up buggery.

12:12 PM
Hey, @Reg.

Hello everyone. I am just dropping by for a second.

Kit
@RegDwight Morning.

I sent @Kosmo an email with condolences. He will be missed.
In fact, it just won't be the same.

I just want everyone to know that I do read your pings, but I still have no idea what to do or say.

Kit
Will he come back some day, do you think?
Let's just weather the storm.

12:14 PM
In the mean time, I'm still moderating the site, but only on auto-pilot. Pure inertia.
More to the point, I am weeding out stuff.
I have closed a number of questions as "general reference".
I have started with at least three questions to which the top (and accepted) answer was mine.
I plan to close more.
In other news, four users are now suspended.
You know who they are.
I am still eternally sad and everything.

@RegDwight — Ditto.

Looking back, I have been neglecting my job and my wife too much and for too long because of this site.

Is there a place we can go to view recently closed questions?
@RegDwight — Oh no, not you too!

You still have me. I'm just saying that I am totally disoriented right now in every possible regard and on every possible level.
yesterday, by RegDwight
I wish I were heading off to Italy tomorrow rather than in 6 weeks.

@RegDwight — I feel you. I'm all at sea myself.

Ah, thanks.

See you all later.

12:20 PM
I'll help out more for the time being. I'll cast my vote on flags etc.
Bye.

Kit
@RegDwight Kiss, kiss.
And I'll work on getting my 10K.
So I know two out of four: 3i and JB. Hints about the other two? I can't think of who else has been causing trouble lately.

Who is JB?

12:30 PM
@Rhodri Ain't that the truth.
He's wrong, with an excess of exclamation points for emphasis.

@Jez I'll have to catch you up when I get time, at work ATM; but needless to say, shit hit the fan.

Kit
Now I'm conflicted about flagging. Is it helpful or hurtful?

@Kit Both.
It's a dichotomy.

Kit
That seems an odd usage for dichotomy.
Dilemma would suit better, I think.

12:51 PM
I did start typing a reply in an attempt to explain myself, but I just cut it, to be honest I don't think I can be bothered to explain the nuances of usage here when one of the only places I participate in that has an active role in the betterment of such has managed to, what, kill my enthusiasm?
OK, so not fully - but, yeah, I'll let you read into that and take it as is, I meant it.

Kit
@MrDisappointment Um. Does that mean you're pissed at me?

@Kit No, not at all. And I certainly didn't intend to come across in that manner.

Kit
Oh. Ok. I suppose everyone is a little gunshy right now.

Just letting out big sighs while in here for the time being.

Kit
Let's do that together.
SIGH
Without @Kosmonaut, I don't see how I'll ever fill my dirty talk notebook...

1:03 PM
That alone is a terrible injustice.
It would very much like speak to @Kosmonaut, or at least send him my thoughts via some medium, should I get the chance.
In the meantime, I'm going to head out for some lunch. I didn't have any yesterday.

Kit
It's a bit early for lunch, innit?
You must be on the other side of the pond.
Hmm. I feel like we've had this conversation before.

Q: What's the connection between "Holy Grail" and "Killer Rabbit"?

PacerierThis article says: If there's a Holy Grail, there's a Killer Rabbit. I can understand that to be "even if there's a good solution, there's a catch to it", but what does Killer Rabbit have to do with the Holy Grail?

can we kill this with fire? it's clearly off-topic

Jez
the thing is Jeff's attitude has gone from "most any decently-written question goes" on SO to "kill as many questions as possible"

@JSBangs I'd already close-voted it to the best of my ability...

Jez
and i have no idea why, it's retarded
he claims that the latter opinion was always the policy, but i call BS. SO would not have gotten as popular as it did if they only accepted 'excellent' questions

@Jez Yes, it's the jump-change in what the acceptable standard is that has taken everyone by surprise

Kit
1:21 PM
@Jez I can't stand SO. I started there, but there are so many crap questions.
It's like wading through a cesspool to find something useful.

That, and the unnecessarily harsh language

Jez
@Kit it got popular because it was the place to go to ask 'crap questions'
and get quality answers

Kit
12 hours ago, by Robusto
Yeah. SO has to be the Augean Stables for mods.

Jez
if you dont like it, you dont like the principle that made SO popular

@Kit i think this is why Jeff had the change of attitude. SO got huge and they have a huge maintenance problem now, and he's trying to impose a super-strict moderation policy on all of the sites, now

Kit
1:22 PM
@Jez Well, then. There you have it.

@Kit That is why I don't go there any more. (I do occasionally look, to see if it's changed, but I've been disappointed so far.) The effort to find a worthwhile question is too high - and the rep reward for a quality answer too low.

Jez
@JSBangs that's retarded. most sites don't have anywhere near as many questions as SO, and never will.

Kit
@psmears I agree. It's a lot of work to contribute and for not much.

@psmears Just added the 5th close-vote

@AlainPannetier Nice work :)

Jez
1:24 PM
@JSBangs I mean perhaps the policy should be in tiers

@Kit i kinda disagree... my participation on SO is mostly passive, in that i go when i have something to ask, and then i stick around to answer a few things just to pay it forward

Kit
Sounds like we're the next generation of EL&U peeps.

but i find that i get plenty of rep

Jez
@JSBangs the higher the tier (# of questions), the higher the threshold for a question being OK

@Jez As opposed to the mods being in tears?

Kit
1:24 PM
@psmears LOL.
Frig. Shouldn't be coding and chatting simultaneously.

Jez
@Kit and if you don't like the policy that made SO popular, you don't like the policy that can make other sites popular.
so you don't like a policy that can make ELU popular
in which case you should consider what you want out of ELU

A: Is it correct to say "Fate forge"?

Ham and BaconI understand @Light. Yes. It is correct if you wrote "Fate Forge". It still means "The Forge of Fate". Another example would be: light ray

Jez
as far as I'm concerned, 20/30 questions a day is fine

Can I get a fact check on that answer?

the bright side is that 3I is suspended now, and is showing 1 rep
i consider that a good thing
@Jez agreed, and that's about what we get, nu?

Kit
1:26 PM
@Jez I'm not sure what you're driving at.

@Jez Myspace was popular. And it was shit.

I've been reflecting a lot on all these recent events . I'd like to share a few thoughts:
- When a site is in Beta, its audience is made of a high proportion of really passionate people who devote time, knowledge and energy to its take off.
- As it becomes more popular, the audience is set to level down a bit and even to attract recognition-starved characters.
- Yet the leaders should stay at the rudder. I believe there is still room for improvement in the current rep mechanism.

Jez

@MrHen You didn't like fingerpainting in the trailer park of social networking media? Come on, now.

1:27 PM
@MrHen It depends on the context. There's not enough context in the question to know whether the answer's appropriate or not.

@Jez That is a false dichotomy, though. Your question assumes too much.

@psmears And that's probably because 3i is in charge of all three accounts that have activity on that question.

@psmears I agree... so I don't understand (a) why the question is still open and (b) why the answer is taking such an authoritative stance
@Kit Right. I also noticed that.
So can we close it please?

Jez
"99th percentile on his English GMATs"

Kit
1:29 PM
@MrDisappointment I'm confused about your antecedents.

Jez
what does that mean? lol

@Kit that would explain a lot. How do we know?

@Jez GMATs are a standardized test. He scored well on the English part.

Kit
@psmears Wild guess. We have a suspicion that simchona is one of his, he's been busted for this before...

@Kit then why is he talking to himself in comments? to throw us off his trail?

Kit

@JSBangs I think he thinks it is funny.

Q: Difference between "are you done" and "have you done."

user10908I was just wondering, how can we differentiate "are you done?" and "have you done?" when is the appropriate way to use it? p/s: feel free to correct my English. Thanks

could this be a dup of Robusto's definitive English verb tense question?

@JSBangs Arg, why is that at +7?
I swear, people just upvote anything...

well, it's a good question. it's very hard for pineapples to grok this distinction
where "good question" = legitimate and interesting to answer, not necessarily well-written

@JSBangs Right, I guess I was reacting to the format/content, not the question itself
But fair enough

H&B suspension = good

Kit
1:35 PM
@z7sg Yes.

But what about Joe Blow? Sure he was annoying but what was the reason?

Kit
@z7sg Are you joking? He's been very inflammatory.

@Kit You just inbetweened me!
@Kit Just wondering if it was a general pattern or one specific exchange.

Kit
@z7sg Pattern. I've had run-ins with him, Reg has, others too.

Jez
why is H&B suspension = good?

1:37 PM
@MrHen good or not, i'm voting to close as dup of this

Q: How do the tenses in English correspond temporally to one another?

RobustoNon-native speakers often get confused about what the tenses in English mean. With input from some of the folk here I've put together a diagram that I hope will provide some clarity on the matter. I offer it as the first answer to this question. Consider it a living document. Input is welcome, ...

I noticed him backing me up recently when I was being argumentative and I thought, hmm I should be a bit nicer cos that's a bad sign for sure!
@Jez He has been running puppet accounts and that goes against the whole spirit of the site. That can't be allowed.

@JSBangs Good call; voted

@MrHen i feel like i should chastize you for your bad tagging on english.stackexchange.com/questions/34000/…

@JSBangs There was a reason for both; but mostly I couldn't figure what really went there
I wanted to know "the history of the meaning of this word"

yeah, i'm coming up with something

1:40 PM
What tag is that?
The answers are missing the point, though

well, i'm not sure that my tags are that much better
oh well

If you think of a better one, please edit :)

Jez
Oh, those emails. I sent one to them about meta banning you for loads of downvotes. got nothing back.
my guess is that it redirects to /dev/null
better to use @Jeff oi, asshole
in a comment thread

@RegDwight i disagree with your close-vote reason on this: english.stackexchange.com/questions/34011/…. should be made dup of the "pronunciation of the English alphabet" question

Oof, Jeff is grumpy:

1:44 PM
Dude, no need to summon Jeff here right now. :/

A: Am I supposed to keep asking the same question?

Jeff AtwoodOk, this has come up before, and although I think it's completely trivial, it's easier to make the change than keep reading people's complaints about this trivial issue. So or ask your own question. or or ask another question.

Jez
summon?
i've never seen him in chat
it would be quite a funny sight

And on that note, I'm out before the next wave of drama hits. Take care all.

guys, did you ever listen to the old SO podcast? do you remember how every single episode Joel would say that they should do something smart, and Jeff would ignore him because he didn't think of it first? and then a few episodes later they would always do Joel's idea anyway. i think we should just recognize the fact that Jeff is stubborn and proud (like most devs, myself not excepted), and that it's impossible to directly convince him that he's wrong about anything.
we'll have much better luck working with @Dori and @RebeccaChernoff to fix the problems with the community, and let them influence Jeff behind the scenes to see that his heavy-handedness is actually damaging the community

@JSBangs — I'm neither stubborn nor proud. Yet somehow I am always right. Funny how that works.
@JSBangs — I think you mean "... and let them influence Jeff behind the scenes to [help him] see that his heavy-handedness is actually damaging the community."

@Kit, From what I can see from the last users page, other suspended accounts include "Paul Aamerigo Pajo" (Pavlin) and "Anderson Silva"

Jez
Hmm, so im reading the chat transcript and im asking myself: how did SO get popular if Jeff is a dick who wants to close questions and ban people?
im genuinely confused.

@Robusto yes

Not familiar with Pavlin but definitely with Anderson Silva's running stream of time-wasters.

Kit
@Robusto Yes, I thought I looked at his account, and it was not suspended. Must need more coffee.

@Robusto He had a bumpy start. remember always interested in conditional moods IIRC.

1:54 PM
i also haven't heard of Pavlin, but Silva can easily get somebody else to proofread his dating problems

Kit
Oh, Pavlin is probably collateral damage.

@Kit — There's a second "Anderson Silva" account with zero rep that's been here for 9 months.

Kit
I imagine that "low-quality contribution" must have an associated algorithm.

i'm actually glad to see the ban-hammer coming down on some of these problem users

@JSBangs — Tru dat.

1:59 PM
i'm also glad to take them back if they play nice, but some of these guys have been a problem for ages
so there's one positive side effect of this whole shitstorm

Kit
@Robusto That's just the one, isn't it?

@Kit — Yup.
