I'm new to minecraft and watched many videos in youtube and the thing that most fascinated me is that players / trollers got the same block that they were looking at in creative !! But How ?????

I'v watched minecraft videos and most of them people go to their crafting spot or "E" button and there is a column on the right hand side showing all the items and rafting recipes and ID names , you can switch it on and off but how do you get that column ??

I made 2 ender chests put one in my base and 1 in my mine I then quit the game when I came back the 1 in my mine was gone. I requit and came back it was still gone. I know it was there because I checked in side it to take something out before I left.
