@jinawee sometimes, but not necessarily. In any case, if a question breaks down a problem into steps and asks a conceptual question about one specific step, it's probably not one of those no-effort homework questions we try to discourage.

If you look closely you can actually see the period 3 orbits in the graph of the lyapunov ^.^

How do I understand whether a series will diverge at some point? For example, in the Legendre's diff. equation $$(1-z^2)y' '-2zy'+\ell(\ell+1)y~=~0,$$ does $y(z)$ diverge for $z=-1$ and $z=+1$?

@Qmechanic no, if a question was migrated in the first place, that means it's off topic, and thus should remain closed. The exception is if the question should never have been migrated in the first place, but I don't think this is one of those cases.
