Do your colleagues build personal friendships with each other? Do they engage in conversation with each other? Do you eat together, e.g lunch? Companies themselves have different cultures. Especially in the software industry, differences can be quite large. Please elaborate — Raditz_35 48 secs ago

Without knowing more about things, it’s possible that your parents aren’t hypocrites: your brother might have simply found a socially acceptable partner, while you didn’t. Whether it was race, social class, religion, politics, or simply their general attitude towards your parents, it’s possible that your partner had something “wrong” with them that your brother’s partner doesn’t have. — nick012000 2 mins ago
