I guess I have different expectations of style for answers, especially coming from SFF. Would it be inappropriate for me to edit the answer to add further details into the answer?

i don't think so, but maybe it would be good to clear it with Organic Marble first, so he can comment if he wants to.

It's just my personal opinion that the information (and all the information) should be on the answer on site and we shouldn't send people away to offsite links (there's an SO blog on it somewhere)
