I'd really like to know how this happened:

Q: transform xml to xml with xsl

user505ERROR: 'Syntax error in 'parent::appendix/not(section)'.' FATAL ERROR: 'Could not compile stylesheet' TransformerConfigurationException javax.xml.transform.TransformerConfigurationException: Could not compile stylesheet

How did someone need that and come here to ask it?
01:17
Oh, come on, someone has to make it to 2K before I hit 4K...
@PearsonArtPhoto I'm trying!
Well, hurry up!
I know, I know.
Maybe you could bounty me the 150 rep I need ? :P
Hmmm... Let me think about that one...
I'm kidding :P
I just got a shared IP that's maxed out on the API - bad when you are trying to develop an app for said API.
Actually, it looks like AlanSE will probably make it first, then me, then Rory.
01:20
I know, I was kidding too;-)
@PearsonArtPhoto Could you go to this link and tell me if there's anything about throttle violations?
I just see a bunch of gobbly goock.
I really hate it when I try to type something I've said a thousand times, and I realize I don't know how to spell it...
A lot or a few lines? It's called JSON :)
Looks like some JSON stuff.
About 1.5 pages worth.
OK, then. Thanks!
01:23
(I have a big monitor...)
I guess I wait until my ISP gives me a non-banned IP :P
Maybe I could tunnel through my server... but now I'm off topic.
You could just reboot your modem. That would probably get you a new IP.
Except I'm not the only one using it.
I get to be a guest blogger for the first time. Should be interesting.
Ahh, makes sense.
Hey! Good for you. What about?
Being the first to 4k when no one else made it to 2k?
01:24
Well, I've been working on a ham radio blog for the last 3-4 months.
Linky?
I'm going to do a guest series of posts on a blog about primarily stuff like food storage, talking about emergency communication preparation.
Neato!
I'm working on a blog... but right now it's htaccessed'd to only me.
It's not a particularly large blog, but I think it's got a higher viewer count than my blog does, so...
Actually, I'm a guest author, I can see the stats. It's a bit higher than my blog, but not hugely so.
@PearsonArtPhoto What would you say about a question on what the highest resolution camera is orbiting Mars? Too localized?
01:27
It's not likely to change for some time.
So go for it?
I could go too broad, stating that there's many different types of cameras:P
It's trivial for me, but I worked for the camera of note for a year, so...
@PearsonArtPhoto Maybe limit it to visible wavelengths?
Sure.
I've even asked a question about said camera before:-)
HiRISE?
01:28
Yep, that's the one.
Is there a way I can prevent a certain user from answering a question and gaining unneeded rep?
LOL. I'm not going to answer another question until either someone gets 2K, or I get 4K;-)
//when you can't win, cheat
Besides, I just want to get a tag badge, that's all...
Lucky.
You actually know stuff about space. I have to look it up :(
01:31
It's what happens when you have to read every book on space in your library when you are in 3rd grade, and never really stop doing that kind of stuff...
I've been an avid Space.com reader for years. Actually, I haven't read it much in the last few years, but then again, stuff still finds me...
I actually had very little interest in space until this proposal went live. It was quite the wild ride getting to #3.

Q: What's the highest resolution camera currently orbiting Mars?

UndoThere are many cameras currently orbiting Mars, taking pictures of rocks and sand and things. What is the highest (in the visible spectrum) resolution of these? Are there higher res ones planned?

Edit as needed.
I have 1 year work as a Satellite Engineer, 2 years working with the Student Satellite program at my university, and 1 year working with HiRISE. Plus some time building missiles in between stuff.
@PearsonArtPhoto And I have 24 days of experience Googling spacey things.

Good thing you added orbit. Otherwise some smart alec would say the microscope on Phoenix (Non-operational, of course)
Restarted router. API works now :)
01:46
Told you so;-)

@RhysW "sometimes"??... Aargh... Have some mercy... You always go off-topic..! In my whole SE life, I've seen you only once discussing on-topic (that too... in h-bar) :D
@CrazyBuddy :P you werent here for the scheduled room meetings were you? :P that was all on topic ;)
@RhysW I can assure everyone that you'd have been in the "audience"..!
@RhysW BTW, you're alive now..? Can I know your timezone? :D
UK timezone
ahhh...
@Crazy Buddy what's your time zone
10:54
@Hash You should start looking into others' profile..! I'm not like @RhysW... I write the truth in my profile (including my name) :D
@PearsonArtPhoto i heavily edited my answer (space.stackexchange.com/a/635/106) to take away the parts about it losing a third, but still keeping that it will slowly reverse changes we do, i also made sure to highlight that a lot of what i say is theory, but if the theory were true then this is probably what is happening. Does it look any better in your eyes now?
@ernestopheles you might be interesting in seeing my edits to the above too
@RhysW hai
hello
11:10
how many days space exploration will be on beta
until it meets enough requirements to be made a full site
this can take a short time or a long time
for example The Workplace, has been in beta for over a year
ok
can i make a quick suggestion while you are here?
yes you are welcome
rather than posting lots of questions in quick succession you might have more luck if you focus instead on posting 1 or 2 but making sure they are of a higher quality, i think deer hunter said the same thing on one of them.

It would be beneficial if you provided more context, some references and maybe even a picture to show you have put the research effort in yourself before hand.
I dont intend this to be a personal dig at you, everyone ideally should follow these guidelines
11:17
ok i will try it out thanks for your suggestion
no problem, thanks for understanding!
is there any moderator for this site
not yet, the best we have is pro-tem mods like @JohnB or high rep people like @PearsonArtPhoto himself
ok i will joint this chat room later
11:32
@RhysW And you.... You're quite lucky that I'm not enthusiastic as I were before (in Physics). Else, I'd have become a mod..! :P
@CrazyBuddy i dont really count, my powers go no further than this chat room :P
@RhysW You can play in the chat room at least..! (:D) BTW, you can nominate yourself in workplace... Why didn't you? :)
@CrazyBuddy i have not
because the elections arent coming up, no where TO sign up? :P
(hacking your profile...)
@RhysW So, you were a newbie then...!
i wasnt even sighned up to the SE network when TWP was in its elections xD
11:37
I saw that....! :)
@RhysW Parenting (I like that site much) is gonna cross 3 years of beta..! :D
Writers & Graphic Design are worse..! They've crossed 3 years... (gonna touch 1k) :/
anyways, im gonna gt back to some work
12:25
@RhysW It's definitely better, but it's missing the one piece as to how fast the atmosphere would be lost.
Of course, we won't know that until Maven arrives, but...
@RhysW I just hit the highest reputation privileges this morning. Of course, Mod powers are higher, but...
13:04
@PearsonArtPhoto i had a look around but all the numbers seemed to be just as speculative as my own im not sure if there even are any decent ones until measurements are taken
@PearsonArtPhoto oh wow, well done!

1 hour later…
14:14
Cheers @PearsonArtPhoto... A 4k+ user.... Oh my... ;-)
Okay... you've achieved all the privileges and nominated yourself as mod... That's enough for beta.. Quit from Space.SE and come back when the site has succeeded :P

2 hours later…
15:47
@Hash You've created three rooms inviting me to join, was that just a test, or is my presence still required in any of those?
@TildalWave xD

4 hours later…
19:27
We've got Mathjax :)
5

2 hours later…
21:37
@TildalWave just saw, yay!
21:49
@TildalWave Really? Must check...
Now I have to learn it.

1 hour later…
23:00
@TildalWave yay, many people will be very happy
@Manishearth will be happy to hear that for one
23:26
@RhysW I expect so too yes... I didn't yet notice that MathJaX syntax helper info box on the right to composing questions & answers tho. I'll let it be so for a few days, maybe it's another one of "cache things" :)
I posted a new question... looking at the title, I'm not sure many will be able to fight their way through all the acronyms LOL
linky?
1
Q: Changes made to ISRO GSLV-D5's CUS and FBTP since GSLV-D3's LH2/LOX CUS failure to sustain ignition?

TildalWaveThe launch of the ISRO GSLV-D5 launching India's GSAT 14 advanced communications satellite (weighing 1,980 kg) is slated for 19th of August, 2013, flying in the GSLV Mk.2 configuration with an Indian-built cryogenic third stage. This mission is delayed from October, December, January, February, A...

@TildalWave wtf? lol, tl:dr.
It might seem a bit too broad, but I'm basically after slightly more detail on what was additionally tested and any changes to 3rd stage design, and the rest is then liberal interpretation / comments of answerers.
@RhysW It's not that long... (that's what she said) :))
@TildalWave no i just wanted to contribute solely in acronyms too :D
23:37
@RhysW Honestly, I somewhat despise too many acronyms and not explaining them anywhere in the text... but I couldn't think of any other way to make the title a bit more concise, so... we have some saying that "the devil will resort to eating flies, when no other food is available" (something like that)
@TildalWave eh seems close enough
@RhysW There's a proper saying along those lines in English?
@TildalWave if it aint broke, dont fix it :P
probably a better one but thats the first that came to mind
@RhysW "Any port in a storm"?
yes thats a much better one
