actually no, it's still not as "usual"... it used to be 1k in private beta, now it's 2k in public beta, and it should be 10k when the site matures

@RhysW only mods can lock a room... it's not unreadable as the stuff that's said in it can still be read when it's unlocked either by entering it or in the transcript, but we do have for example our Sec.SE CTF team room that's made private during competitions

@RhysW because it's not really privacy per se ... gallery chat room means only specified users can talk, but anybody can read what's been said, and locking a room is mod only, among other stuff (I'm not entirely sure, but I think that includes deleting and renaming a room, e.t.c.)

Q: Which nations or unions of nations have independent space programs

I'm curious to know which nations (or unions of nations, such as EU) have independent space programs and how far have they progressed so far. Independent by necessity means having their own budgets and as complete as possible control over the purpose of their space programs, whatever that may be....

This is shameless rep-whoring, but I would also be genuinely interested in some good answers, because I simply don't know much about certain non-western space programs, such as China / Japan / India / Brazil / ...

And suggestions / edits for the tags I chose (and maybe other things?) are welcome!
