Why would you delete a question just to ask a very similar question? Wouldn't it be better to just edit the existing question? Or am I missing something?
@Undo i was under the impression the person recieving the vote didnt actually get told about it in their rep until the vote 'locks in' e.g cannot be reversed without edit
Your question and answer history would be the verification I suppose. I just really want this site to leave private beta, thought it might help give it a push :)
nah, its basically an unverified list of names, doesnt prove anything, what we need for that are expert level questions and answers. Doesnt matter if we have their name in a list if they arent asking or answering
@RhysW I know plenty about the SE network, but space isn't exactly my specialty. I'm doing something right, though, as I'm usually either #4 or #5 in the rep list.
How important does everyone feel that equations are here? Other communities like physics and math uses MathJax, which will render equations typed in LaTeX. That has to be added to the site code, and I admit I do not know how this is done.
As a PSA, I use the quicklatex site when the MathJax is...
@PearsonArtPhoto question for you pearson, you seem to know your stuff, got a question about the impact of rocks with rockets, but no tags seem to fit what i want, i added safety and impact to it as new tags, is there something obvious i am missing?
oops safety already exists, just impact is a new one, not sure if one already exists that serves a similar purpose, though synonyms are always good i guess if its not immediately evident
hmmm, i want to ask a question related to how we can increase the speed of communication to unmanned vehicles as they reach very large distances, e.g delays to instructions sent to voyager i imagine range into the hours. When fast response is needed i imagine that the further something gets the harder it is to look after it as the commuication time increases. But im not sure how to word the question, i might have to think about this one a bit more

I though this site was looking for good, professional answers backed by real science, not the ramblings of a fiction author, no matter how respected he might be.

At beta, a site needs pro-tems who are enthusiastic about the site, keen to put in the effort to help it grow, prepared to answer questions and moderate, edit and comment and generally be a strong participant - as well as wanting to be a pro-tem
