Q: Who signed the Captain Picard Day sign?

ThePopMachineWith the release of the trailers for Star Trek: Picard we have observed what either a flashback, or an in-universe reproduction or preserved artifact of the Captain Picard Day sign. This also affords us some much higher resolution views of this in-universe object. Original TNG: Star Trek: Pi...

Interesting, I believe this is pretty much the only time we see an Enterprise resident using a written language besides Earth script for day-to-day communication.
By my account, we have: Mok, Tiamé, Ja'Lok Noq, [roughly Z3UƐ], Devyn, [roughly ZJOƮ3, same script as previous], BLitn, [W-with a line, kind-of-fancy-N, captial-I-with huge serifs], Robert, [tilty-W-with-a-dot, L'H-joined], [green-reptilian?-hand-print], Michael
@Jenayah, is it really convention to italicize ships' names? I don't think so.
Again, with escaping the tick marks...by my account, we have: Mok, Tiamé, Ja'Lok Noq, [roughly Z3UƐ], Devyn, [roughly ZJOƮ3, same script as previous], BLitn, [W-with a line, kind-of-fancy-N, captial-I-with huge serifs], Robert, [tilty-W-with-a-dot, L'H-joined], [green-reptilian?-hand-print], Michael
Just FYI: they are not exactly the same banners. The one in the trailer has more white space at the left edge and is also missing a purple signature below the green “a” in “Captain”, for instance.
@ThePopMachine yup
@Praxis - Yes, the d in Picard is also wrong. It's pretty close though and someone's clearly taken a fair amount of time to try to get it right. Maybe the kids made multiple signs :-)
@Praxis: He lives! Picard, 7of9, "Data", and Praxis are all back!
@Praxis, oh this is right. To my list, we need add "Qudei" or something like that. I guess this kid was retconned out. Or perhaps The universe is a spheroid region seven hundred and five metres in diameter. Uh oh.

@ThePopMachine : I was rebuilt, just in time for this new series. :-)
@Jenayah, that's great, but I'm not convinced this convention applies to Star Trek and/or scifi.SE
@ThePopMachine Why wouldn't it? It's not a military/spatial/whatever thing, it's an English thing. I won't loose sleep over it, but sure, it should apply to any work as long as we're using English conventions (they're not only English by the way, at least France has them as well)
@Jenayah: The reason it matters is because bringing all of scifi.SE into line with this convention would be literally hundreds of thousands of edits. For due diligence, I looked at the first ten search:[star-trek],enterprise questions and none of them employed this convention except one (which was edited by you).
@Jenayah: I want to be clear, I won't lose sleep over it either, but I do think this is likely to be something that the community does not consider a good reason to edit thousands of questions and answers over.
@ThePopMachine oh completely agree, and fear not, I have way better plans for my life than editing all mentions of the Enterprise into italics ;) in that case I was editing something more important (alt text and franchise tag), so while I was at it I applied the naming convention as well. I wouldn't bump an old thread just for that, but if I'm fixing something else more important in the post, I'll do it
@Jenayah: Well, I just don't think this is something we should do at all. I think we should take it to meta, but I don't want you to think it's an attack. I just think it's weird to be inconsistent so we should establish the convention. We edit names of movies/TV series to italics, but we don't use italics for ships.

@ThePopMachine I don't feel attacked ;) as per convention, well, not everyone italicizes work titles as well, but it's still what should be done. I don't think we should forbid it just because a majority doesn't follow a writing convention (it's a slippery slope). The ones who don't, don't, and the oddballs who do, well, they do. No big deal (though sure you can take it to meta, people would probably elaborate more fancily than I can :) )
@Jenayah : It has never been the convention in any official Star Trek-related media to italicize the names of vessels. There is value in consistency (which the SFF.SE community expresses by coordinating tagging conventions, etc.) and so I have reverted the change. Sorry. Thanks for the discussion.
@Praxis okay then (why is that though?). Feel free to flag the other comments as no longer needed, otherwise I'll just delete them at some point as they're not really relevant anymore :)
