I'm familiar with setting simple aliases in my .bashrc, and think it might be capable of doing what I want, but not quite sure how to do it. The desire: always echo $? after a particular program finishes executing. The particular program I want to run this after prints out fairly awkward STDERR...
What exactly does this do? I don't understand how you could access base memory with this...seems kinda weird. Is it safe?

jobs is my favorite command to see my codes which are running in the background. In order to check for them dynamically, I tend to type
watch 'jobs'
which does not display anything. However
watch 'ps'
works perfectly.
I have been doing the same mistake for months now.
