Either way, I'm glad it's over.
And I'm kind of glad it wasn't any good, so whatever else happens with the GoT universe I can safely ignore.
Seriously, though, what an affectless zhlub Jon Snow turned into. I guess it's just as well he was killed earlier, yeah?
@Robusto Hah!
On your advice, I never bothered with the books.
Of the series I watched the first three seasons or so, then quit, because it felt too much like a soap opera.
And, yes, the never concluded subplots were highly irritating.
00:50
@Mitch I'm just practicing being understood on purpose. Meanwhile, nobody cares that the Breaker of Chains broke into a crumbly nut muffin.
01:34
@KannE Crumby nut muffins are pretty good. So I'm not sure where you're going with this.

@Robusto I wish I knew what to tell you. They're producers and some-time directors, not really writers. So George gave them where all the chips would land at the end, but they didn't have the skill needed to get them to land there in ways you would find believable.
In other news, it's snowing here.

Bleep blorp.
And I really mean it to sting.
What animal are you, stinging people like that?
14:04
@Cerberus Jelly fish. A billion years of evolution and all they can do is hurt you.
@Mitch Ugh.
I don't like jellywish.
Nothing personal.
14:19
@Cerberus Understood. I am what I am. If I could change things... I don't know, maybe be more directed in my ability to induce pain? Like, use it for good and stuff.
Hey, Edwin's back (or, I'm just noticing that Edwin's back)
@Mitch But jellyfish have the ability to switch back to nymphoid or even embryotic forms, haven't they?
At least some do?
@choster Oh, had he been away?
I hadn't seen any activity from him in some months, but he might have been visiting and just not answering/commenting

Q: News about Edwin?

Mari-Lou ADoes anyone know anything about user Edwin Ashworth? A somewhat exigent and at times infuriating stickler for standards, I find myself missing his droll comments. He's been “missing” since July.

@choster From my internet sleuthing (looking at ELU activity on his profile page) it looks like he disappeared last summer, and reappeared May 15.
@Cerberus We don't talk to that kind.
Your own children?
14:24
Yep, I see that now
@Cerberus My kids don't do that.
Jul 8 - May 14: no activity at all.
I suspect he's was typing all that time but just didn't notice that the internet thing wasn't plugged in.
I mean, that's how I think it'd happen to me.
@Mitch But you still don't talk to them.
@Mitch He should have downloaded it first, d'oh.
14:40
@tchrist I blame Martin. If he'd have finished the damn series they would at least have had a yardstick by which to measure their effort. Also, count no book finished until it is written. Martin may say how he expected it to end, but until he actually went through the writing process he wouldn't really know. First rule of fiction: your characters have lives of their own and do what they want to do; the author is only a conduit.
@Mitch No, crumbly with an L, whole other thing.
14:53
@KannE Oh. Yeah. A world of difference.
15:15
Or a word of difference?
+1
15:39
@Mitch What's a single world for a when a word oozes an L?
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I don't know, Stan, what's a single word for when a word oozes an L?
Well I wasn't making a Mitch pun, just asking a genuine question. Ish. Genuine-ish.
16:02
@choster I've seen his name listed as a close voter on some topics lately.
Well, one chooses to lose and the other loathes to chose.

Better steak in a chalet than gristle in a castle
A stitch in the hand is worth nine in the bush.
A bird in time saves two.
A rolling stone throws glass moss.
Don't gather stones in houses
You're being like a china in a bull shop.
@Mitch Argh. That makes no sense.
You should've went with cheese
One chooses to lose and the other chose to loathe.
There. fixed.
16:11
One lease is cheesy
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ When you come to a fork in the road, take the one less eaten by.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Hm there's a Dr Seuss in there...
> Through three cheese trees three free fleas flew.
While these fleas flew, freezy breeze blew.
Freezy breeze made these three trees freeze.
Freezy trees made these trees' cheese freeze.
That's what made these three free fleas sneeze.
Tree cheese? Ew.

1 hour later…
17:17
@Mitch it's just fungi
Ew nonetheless.
@Mitch well, normal cheese itself is the result of fungi pooping in milk, no?
That's a very . . . helpful way to look at it.
to be clear, it's peeing in milk, but yes, I get your point.
I just had some milk and bacteria pee, and wheat and yeast pee.
I mean, I had yogurt and bread
Have you heard of barbari? It's pretty yummy.
18:19
I've had barbari. Yeah it's good. I've also had lavasch (sp?). I don't like it as much. It's so... thin.
@Mitch Lavash taste heavily depends on how it's prepared
Poorly made barbari is like polystyrene.
You could make a bullet proof vest out of it.

1 hour later…
19:31
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Oh, la vache!
