@CowperKettle My grandparents and uncles didn't have electricity a decade ago, in their village. They had installed 1 cm x 2 cm size solar panels on their roof, just for a couple of lights at the night.
They still use it to save electricity bills, even when there's electricity now
And now they have installed bigger panels too, for running irrigation tube wells
Correction: I meant solar panel of size 1 meter x 2 meter (i.e., 2 m^2 area)

@CowperKettle Me too. But our leaders keep focusing on religion and our ancient culture and issues based on religion. So it will take maybe 100 years for us to become developed

@Vikas you should look up the updated numbers. Omicron and its subvariants evade natural and acquired immunity pretty effectively. So if we want to accurately talk about "vaccine effectiveness", we should be clear about the metric (prevention of hospitalizations? Mortality? Reduced viral load?), the virus variant, method of study etc.
The thing I was skeptic was this: He said market values what is rare and valuable.
Now, you see Instagram reels? Almost everyone is making their career based on it. And what they do is basically "copy" the same trending thing. Which I feel is opposite to what he said. It's not valuable and rare.
But see . . . they get famous and eventually earn money! So I'm skeptical about that.
It seems to me like there could be half a dozen other major reasons for this wave of depression, and only "the likes" can be independently linked to social media.
@Vikas "rare" in that context probably means something along the lines of "a rare opportunity for monetization"
If you say Picasso did deep work and his work was rare and valuable it makes sense to me. But people making money through Instagram reels and influencers/promotions, it doesn't make much sense. It contradicts what he said.

If people are constantly reading about environmental or humanitarian crises, is it fair to blame that on social media alone? They have facilitated it for sure, but it's not something that would go away if social media were banned tomorrow
@CowperKettle Yeah. But the point is, eventually they are making much more money. And I mean it's not about only art. You just do what's trending on Tiktok or Reels. Like a joke or funny song dubbing etc. That's not something rare right? But you get eventually fame.

I am just curious about the fact that some people on social media earn money with skills that are not rare and not so valuable and doesn't need deep work. Still they earn money.
