It's just that when grownup people discuss it so seriously, it looks like a polytheism a bit.
I knew about the fallen angel story, but I thought that modern Christians just believed in God and thought all these stories about side-characters are not that important.
18-yo political activits of the Vesna ("Spring") movement was taken off plane he tried to board in Yekaterinburg
He is charged with taking part in peaceful rallies multiple times. Could get a jail term for this.
Under the so called "Dadin Law", named after its first victim.
The law makes it possible to give you a prison term even if you harmed nobody. Just coming to the street with a slogan sign several times counts as a crime punishable by this law, if the political rallies were not "authorized" by the authorities.

Good morning, Bohemian!
It's 5:18 in the morning here.
I'll return to my sleep.

Ildar Ildusovich Dadin (Russian: Ильда́р Ильду́сович Да́дин, Tatar: Илдар Илдус улы Дадин, born April 14, 1982) is a Russian activist, accused of violent acts and derailing during demonstrations and hence constantly receiving increased attention from the authority. He is the first person to spend 1 year in a penal colony solely for his activity. == Activism and imprisonment == According to Amnesty International, Ildar Dadin is a "peaceful opposition activist". Dadin has attended rallies in support of the LGBT community (he is not LGBT himself) and opposition figurehead Alexei Navalny, has been...

@CowperKettle I thought it was made up by Milton in Paradise Lost but:
Satan, also known as the Devil, is an entity in the Abrahamic religions that seduces humans into sin or falsehood. In Christianity and Islam, he is usually seen as either a fallen angel or a jinn, who used to possess great piety and beauty, but rebelled against God, who nevertheless allows him temporary power over the fallen world and a host of demons. In Judaism, Satan is typically regarded as a metaphor for the yetzer hara, or "evil inclination", or as an agent subservient to God. A figure known as "the satan" first appears in the Tanakh as a heavenly prosecutor, a member of the sons of G...
@CowperKettle I'm not sure but I don't think Ive heard about satan at all through religious stuff. I thought satan was just some popular culture thing

@CowperKettle dunno about Christians but Muslims believe (at least their doctrine is) that Satan is powerless to change the physical world to cause, say, bodily harm, it just tempts people.
Of course, there has been that age for every religion, superstition has always taken over at some point and overridden doctrine, so that's one clue how religious people really are
I mean, depending on the time period, they've either exaggerated or denied their beliefs, but they're probably almost always there, but are like leaves that can be blown away with little effort

Leonid Brezhnev walks the corridors to his working room, and passes by a subordinate.
"Christ has arisen, Leonid Ylyich!"
"Hm."
Another subordinate passes by.
"Christ has arisen, Leonid Ylyich!"
- "Thank you, comrade! This fact has already been reported to me".
(A Soviet Easter joke; it's the tradition in Russia to say "Christ has arisen" instead of "Good day" to each other on Easter. The other guy should reply: "He has indeed arisen")

A thin, flat flake has just fell off my frontal tooth. WIthout any pressure applied. Not at the end of the tooth, but in the middle.
Amazing. How can a layer of a tooth just chip away, exposing a shallow pit with rough surface

Turns out the rapper poet Kate Tempest is lesbian
I like her poem "My Shakespeare", this was the poem that I first memorized by heart, and then started memorizing others.

Pandemic is a good excuse for people to shirk
people with private friends can take this chance to gather more with them while people who don't have private friends suffer a lot meanwhile

@CowperKettle trying to make consistent sense out of these stories is like trying to make sense of Harry Potter.
As to polytheism, why is that even a thing? Or rather, why is it an important distinction? The three main abrahamic religions are supposedly monotheistic, but catholicism has it's trinity, plus multitudinous saints if you believe in one magical being, what's stopping belief in another?
If you have one extra voice in your head why not have a group chat there?
@M.A.R. leaf blowers are a crime against nature. This invisible hand of evolution should manage them. Also millions of years
(I just got one the other day and it's like magic. Sweeping is so annoying I don't bother)
