> A few profit -- and the many pay. But there is a way to stop [war]. You can't end it by disarmament conferences. You can't eliminate it by peace parleys at Geneva. Well-meaning but impractical groups can't wipe it out by resolutions. It can be smashed effectively only by taking the profit out of war. — Smedley Butler
And who was Smedley Butler?
Smedley Darlington Butler (July 30, 1881 – June 21, 1940) was a United States Marine Corps major general, the highest rank authorized at that time, and at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. During his 34-year career as a Marine, he participated in military actions in the Philippines, China, in Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars, and France in World War I. Butler later became an outspoken critic of U.S. wars and their consequences. He also exposed an alleged plan to overthrow the U.S. government. By the end of his career, Butler had received 16...
The quote is from War is a racket, which I highly recommend.

@RegDwigнt wow! I crazily want to take a shower. I have never craved so much for being able to access a decent shower room every day like now. In the past, there was some occasions when I lived in a hotel room and had access to a decent shower facility, and I felt it's too much to wash my head every day because my head wouldn't get dandruff and itching again until at least several days after washing it. Now in retrospect, I really crave for that luxury of access to a decent shower room every day.

@forest notice how the two forms switch between 1920 and 1940
@forest good question btw :-)
hmm, the switch disappears with greater "smoothing"?

@skullpetrol I'd suggest a look at the Y axis values. You're talking about so few instances that at best this is anecdotal evidence.
Pro tip: When the curves look like square waves, you're probably not proving anything one way or the other.

thanks for the tip, pal

The tag for this question - https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/510205/what-is-the-proper-name-for-idiomatic-exclamative-phrases - "interjection", was added after the question was answered. Was this the right thing to do? Is it allowed?

"All units in Armstrong." No, those look more like Ångström. And the question is impossible to answer without eliminating the listed choices (as both radii are typically determined experimentally), which makes it ill-posed IMO. — andselisk ♦ 24 hours ago
@Justin sure, why not?

@M.A.R. - But the edited tag was the answer to the question.
And that was the answer that I answered before the tag was edited.

> The majority of patients were Caucasian, except for one patient in the [...] arm, who was White/Black (p = 0.237, Fisher’s exact test).
What could this mean - White/Black?
How can a single patient be White/Black. I'm at a loss as to how to translate this into Russian.

@CowperKettle Grey
@Justin You mean in terms of reputation abuse? Well, it's just a +2. Ridiculously low benefit for anyone who would want to hunt things like these. The suggested edit was made after your answer because it borrows from it, and ultimately, since the "repository of knowledge" goal is met, it doesn't matter.
