@englishstudent with pronunciation of any language, the first hard part is the sounds that don't appear at al in your own language. Then I put on equal footing r's and vowels, because for 'r' you probably already have an r just not exactly the same as standard English, and vowels because, holy crap, they are so subtle!

The original author included some irritating personal remarks, but the answer has some citations that I think are valuable. The original poster is gone anyway, so I edited the post to remove the parts that I thought weren't useful.
@englishstudent If you don't aspirate /p t k/ in a situation where a native speaker would use aspiration, they may be prone to being misheard as /b d g/ respectively.
