12:00 AM
Oh gracias.

Gesundheit.

Good health!

crl
the word "untriaged" from "triage" is quite the same thing that French word "triage"? (tri/trier = sort)

12:15 AM
Yes, can you give the context?
Triage is often used in the context of doctors in case of an emergency.
When they have to decide which patients to treat first.

crl

That means the urgency (the status) of the issue has not yet been determined.

crl
ok, not exactly the meaning of French 'triage' :)
(well I'm not sure, could 'unsorted' stand for 'untriaged'?)

12:39 AM
@MετάEd I have a hat! A real one!
@Mitch Not in the sense of tediously explaining everything. I'm thinking more like "this is a thing" so newbies might recognize it.

12:55 AM
@KitZ.Fox Woo hoo!

1 hour later…
2:10 AM
Hey guys
@KitZ.Fox So that hat idea worked?

@PhonicsTheHedgehog Um, well. I emailed the team and asked them for a hat and they sent me one.

@KitZ.Fox When in doubt, ask. I should do that more often XD
Should I use a noun or gerund in this case?
"Through reflection on his past action" or is it "Through reflecting on his past action?"

What's the rest of the sentence?

"He attempts to make things right through reflection/reflecting on his past actions."
Forgot an 's' there before.

He attempts to make things right by reflecting on his past actions.
Through reflecting on his past actions.
I guess I would use a gerund.

2:15 AM
I see. Thank you~
What did you do for New Years?

Ate food, drank alcohol.
Did you do anything fun?

Sounds awesome
I wrote like, dozens of college supplemental essays
I reached college limit on Common Application
o.o
Well I feel good after doing work, so that's good

Wow.
Congratulations, I think?

Yeah. We have a saying in Korea, I think it goes like this:
"Like how Zhao Yun uses up many old blades..."
Basically means spam it until it works/gets done

Nice.

2:19 AM
I have one due in approx. 3 hours XD
Thank you

How many places have you applied?

Um, 20.
Statically speaking I'll get into at least one... I hope.

Wow.
How is your GPA?

On 4.0 scale, weighted... 3.94-ish?
Is that good? :P
Not sure - I got some bad grades on World Languages

SAT?
3.94 is excellent and you know it. Did you take AP classes?

2:21 AM
Eh, not good. 1990 is my latest. Got 31 on ACT tho...
I took one AP class... it all doesn't add up
I guess I'm worse at Standardized testing. ;_;

1990 is bad? I guess they changed things.

My mom was pretty shocked and mad... high expectations, I guess
Its on 2400 scale, so I suppose I should've done better.
Now, new SATs... those young whippersnappers won't know how hard it was for us

You'll do fine. You'll get in most places, I bet. Hardest part will be choosing which place to go to.

That is true.
Thank you~

Good luck! I'm off to bed.

2:29 AM
Good night!~

10 hours later…
12:22 PM
How to link two quotations using periods in order not to make a one big paragraph?

4 hours later…
4:57 PM
@JustynaNogala Wha?

5:38 PM
Hey I noticed ELU is also a tag salad.

2 hours later…
7:14 PM
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. mmm... lots of roughage.
Is there any place that uses tags not a big mess of tags?

Chem.SE
ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
But there's the thing that is the second popular tag on meta, after .
@Mitch But I think I agree that tags by definition make messes on language sites.

Probably Lifehacks
I think there's like 10 tags.

Well, about Lifehacks the site itself is the problem. :)

8:07 PM
hello
Dear Mr. ,

I submitted a scientific paper titled "Model-driven Framework for the configuration and the deployment of applications in the Cloud" in CLOUD COMPUTING 2016. The contribution number is 20075 and it was accepted as a regular paper/ academic research. I would definitely like to register this paper and present the work done within. But as I am a student and I do not take a scholarship, I can not afford all these registration costs. So could you, please, support me.

We would appreciate an answer at your earliest convenience.
please the sentence "So could you, please, support me"
it soonds not good here
could you please give me more suggestion to change it ?

@Sayros What's with the "please" in the middle?
Just go with "I was wondering if you could"

ah So could you please support me *
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. then I change I was wondering if you could help me ?

> So I was wondering if you'd be so kind to support me in blah blah blah.

oh thats nice ^^ thanks
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. thanks a lot :)

Anytime
Though I wonder if the rules of this chat allow this kind of proofreading here.
Are there any prohibitions @Mitch?

2 hours later…
9:51 PM
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. I don't think there's anything special about language sites. tags are a mess everywhere unless they are low-number expert driven. When anybody is creating them and curation comes afterwards they're just a mess.
@KitZ.Fox Oh. OK. still would take a lot of work to list them.
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. Sure, it's OK to ask, but there's no compunction for anyone to do it. It's on a 'if I feel like it' basis. Chat is not a proofreading service; we'd be happy to help out, but that's not the main reason people come.
