Answers and questions on EL&U sometimes go too far into linguistics territory for me to follow! @Robusto nah...that seems OK to me...in another language it is very easy to miss humor and irony and sarcasm and such. The word 'fluffy' in English to the OP stil isn't yet stuck to the fluffy meaning and so they aren't sure what nuance of fluffiness there is about a giant dog.
