@vzn i wanna ask you guys about my possible graduate field choice, i really glad if anybody can help me. In Turkey we have computer engineering to more similar to your computer science field and no computer science in undergraduate level at all and electronics engineering is similar to computer engineering (in US).

We have three separate departments for computer engineering: computer science, hardware and software and i must choose one for graduation program. I don't know which one i must choose. I want studying about computer security focused mostly theoretical problems of malwares and reverse engineering like spreading, polymorphic & metamorphic engines, anti-debugging, disassembly algorithms not platform specific features how to hook x operating system calls.

You can understand that our computer science definition is more like your theoretical computer science definition. Which field is more relevant for me software or computer science? Thanks for all answers.

@de6f sounds like a question for your academic advisor. do you have one? you havent described the "software" dept. Theoretical Computer Science is basically research. you can read/ browse the content of Computer Science or Theoretical Computer Science to understand the fields. you might also try Cryptography
