As someone who benefits subtstantially from the change, I still have mixed feelings, especially about the retroactive nature of the change. I think I'm a bit more likely to upvote a question if it's worth only 5 points, so I think it skews my past judgments of upvote-worthiness. I think if they weren't applying the change retroactively I'd have very few qualms about it.
