Q: Before MathOverflow

Josiah ParkMathOverflow is almost ten years old now. Soon (if not already) the webpage will be old enough that some of the users may not have memories of the internet before MO. What were favorite (internet based, say) substitutes for MO before 2009 of current users?

Should there also be a dual question "After MathOverflow"? How long do you think MO is going to last?

There are some signs that SE as a platform is already in its declining days; it is possible that it will "Myspace away" in the next years.
I meant to ask about specifically about MO as a site. The Stack Exchange network seems in a relatively healthy phase to me.
It's probably matter of the viewpoint.
Of course, my main data point is Mathematics site - I do not visit other sites very frequently.

It seems that there were several similar spammers recently - username some random combination of characters, posting several posts in a quick succession.
csfvss, fczva and vgxsscd were different names for the same account.
gdgcd and urzfbg was actually the same user.
And just now: cfasxvc and dvfgsdz
Changing the username is another common sign of these recent spammers.
The post I've noticed seem to be removed relatively quickly (about 10 minutes).
