@yannis: just curious, about how many mod positions for SE.SE is this election? Just one? Or does the actual number depend on the number of upvotes each candidate gets?

The number of open positions is decided by SO overlords up front. However, in the 2nd election on this site, a runner-up was called up as another mod to meet additional demand.

This election has two open positions, as noted on the election page.

(I guess this means two mods want to stop?)

@amon I can understand that, but I feel we should give the community a bit of choice. All three of you would be excellent candidates.

@amon Yes, in this instance two of us are stepping down. I recently became a dad, and time is extremely limited.

(also the community deserves a much more dedicated moderator than I have been the past year or so)

I'll think about it. I would prefer to have no obligation to Stack Exchange, but I'm a decently active community moderator anyway so I suppose little would change in practice.
