@mod Does this answer count as spam?

A: Server-side 3D static image render with parameters and get / return the image file; is that possible?

Marius from RenderStreetRenderStreet can definitely help with such a project. Our service is currently integrated into a number of 3rd party services and applications for automating the rendering processes. The main advantage that we bring to the table is that we take care of the entire infrastructure needed for your ...

i'm not a mod so this is just an opinion. Wouldn't go as far as classifying it as spam, it does attempt to address the issues of the question. It does read a lot like shameless publicity, though

@ScottMilner It's borderline, but I think it's passable

Q: Is there an issue posting your own for-sale add-on as an answer?

Ray MairlotI have recently created an add-on, which is for sale on the Blender Market, that I think answers a question by a user on the main part of site. (A question that doesn't yet have an accepted answer). Are there any guidelines as to whether I should or how I should proceed with an answer that featu...

Q: How do I repeat my script/macro across all selected objects?

FrankI am trying to create an automated LOD process within Blender, that takes a mesh, creates a group using the mesh's name, renames the mesh to '_LOD0', adds a Decimation modifier and then creates 3 more meshes with progressively higher Decimation modifiers and LOD numbers: This seems to work fin...

A wall of text coding approach.

Grumble... .. Nicely asked via an edit not to add SOLVED to a question title... looks like the OP want's to set a new trend. Can they be asked to add solved to all questions with answers? ONe of BSE's "outstanding" citizens too... member for four years 3 votes total.

What is the SE position on appending SOLVED to title?

Q: Detect edits to add [SOLVED] or [RESOLVED] to the title and direct the user to add an answer

WesleyUsers often ask questions that they answer for themselves. Good for them. And good for us. Symptom The correct procedure seems to be: Write new answer to own question Wait two days Accept own answer The incorrect, but fairly popular, procedure seems to be: Edit the question to include th...

@batFINGER Looks like they have a reasonable explanation though
Im aware of that, its just that there is 2 days... timeout before one can accept their own answer. — EwwGin 43 mins ago
Not that that warrants putting solved in the title, but it is an awkward situation

Please keep in mind this is a public chatroom. Think carefully before saying things about other users you wouldn't want to say to them directly.

A number of us routinely complain here about posts on the main site. There's nothing wrong with that per se, but when it strays into ad hominems it crosses a line.
Imagine if you were a new user unfamiliar with SE and decided to check out this "chat" thing. Perhaps you're different, but I could definitely imagine getting turned off by reading some of the posts here and decide to leave and never to look back. Hopefully we agree that would be sad for all of us.
I haven't mentioned it before, but I've noticed this has been going on for a while now, from multiple people (not directing this at @batFINGER personally :P).

@gandalf3 Kinda the point I was getting at. Rather than a comment my edit doing same as is now was reverted. Similar in a way to this one blender.stackexchange.com/questions/130672/… where the user marked as solved in title and edited answer into question, Title was edited, and a comment added suggesting user answer own question. The end result there I would call an awkward situation too.

indeed
