@GiantCowFilms oh but they did. See the web devs finally got a css property to round corners just when everybody stopped using them. They have been begging all the designers ever since to bring them back.

@David the CSS property to round corners has been around since forever...

@GiantCowFilms how old are you? ...
not forever at all.
that came out with "css3"

@David I thought you knew that roughly.

@GiantCowFilms I do. and you should remember the web without border-radius

It was supported in IE 9, which I think may have been the first browser I ever used.

1:04 PM
for real? ie9!
I remember no tabs

Well, I did use ealier ones, but that is way far back, and I did not use them much.

nah you had to of started on at least ie8.
ie7 was from the XP days.
ie9 came out with win7
PS you all got to do some CV reviewing.

win7 was the first OS I really got to use.

there were 65 when I looked today.

I did use XP a tiny bit, but I basically have no memory of what it was really like.
But anyway, the rounded corners fad is much more recent than the CSS border radius property.

1:18 PM
@GiantCowFilms yah. I just did the math and that makes sense. but wow hard for me to imagine starting out on win7

Whats really freaky is that some people will be starting out on mobile only.

I know. I still have not adjusted to that thought.
completely different world then when either of us started on CPUs

I did end up only managing to shoot one HDRI on the trip (very tight itinerary). However, the one I did manage to get was shot on top of table mountain at sunset. So there is that.

@GiantCowFilms awesome

10:14 PM
@GiantCowFilms @David i remember dialing phone numbers when an actual physical dial was used. This is fun, we should have this conversation every now and then.

10:31 PM
@GiantCowFilms Looks pretty good. Where is this located, if you don't mind me asking?

@GiantCowFilms Nice! is there dynamic range in the bright spots?

@gandalf3 There should be. That is just a jpeg pano made from one bracket. There are 13 more brackets :P

ah
Do you stitch the brackets and then merge? Or merge brackets and stitch those?

Previously I stitched then merged. However, that is very finicky, and I think I will merge then stitch in the future.
Right now though I need to get my merging software working again. I broke it and sort of lost the working copy, trying to make it support open EXR and custom color spaces.

@GiantCowFilms Ah had to look that up. I assumed " table mountain " was some sort of generic name for a mesa, I see now it is a specific place in south africa

10:44 PM
Oh yeah. Its quite famous. Its is a gigantic mesa.
Also, If I recall correctly, that little island in the bay (visible in the HDRI) is Robin Island, the location of the jail that they locked Nelson Mandela in.

11:04 PM
Sounds like a lovely place. * adds to travel location backlog *

11:15 PM
@kimholder and cords. remember those?

the twirly ones you could wind around your finger while you talked? yeahhhh....

@GiantCowFilms sweet hdr! nice lighting and a great location.
@kimholder aren't we old :)
