"Most probably he really did not pay too much attention": note that the OP went out of their way not to specify the gender of ths student. This seems to be an example of our implicit biases that default to the male gender without us realizing we're making a choice; left unchecked, these implicit biases cause real harm to female students (and women more generally). — Greg Martin 2 days ago
