I think this is not something that is relevant long-term, so not worth officially asking on the site...

I'm doing texture baking, and i'd like to use image textures that are big on some pieces. I'm thinking about doing one that is 8192 x 8192 on a piece i'd like to look good.

Is that going to cause trouble? I've got a 980 GTX

wow neat, i tried it, having no patience, and the test render is going very quickly. I guess what matters is samples, not image size.
