On the plus side, we're almost down to 40 tags left

yeah, is already implied in pretty much any question anyway...
no need to tag it :p

Q: Adding [moonlighting] tag: yea or nay?

ChrisForrenceI've noticed a few questions in Freelancing that ask for advice when doing freelancing work on the side (while working a 9-5 during the day). We've had a bit of a discussion on it in the chat room (transcript), but what are y'alls thoughts about adding a moonlighting tag? Proposal: Add moonli...

Metalancer is a bit slow, it seems

A: Adding [moonlighting] tag: yea or nay?

HirotoI'm all for adding a formal definition to this with a tag. moonlighting: noun [u] /ˈmuːnlaɪtɪŋ/ paid work that you do in addition to your normal job, especially without telling your employer (Source: Cambridge Business English Dictionary) It also seems to be where a large number o...

oh boy, 14 angry glowing suggested edits
will need a tag wiki excerpt at a bare minimum

Yeah, I also need to make a question calling for tag wikis
Or if you're volunteering to make that question, I'll certainly defer ;)

@ChrisForrence the fun of having the person whose edit you just reviewed in chat with you

Oh damn; those are some major typos I missed
I'll try and be more careful going forward

Yeah, peter's first language isn't English, so we try to tidy up his posts a bit
(I used to work as an editor for a translation team doing japanese -> english translating)

often the translators weren't native english speakers, so we helped them with vocab and cleaned up their grammar and spelling

I've honestly been rushing through a lot of these suggested edits (I'm just trying to clean up the tag; I'm a lot more careful about the content on SO)

In fact, we only ever had one native english speaker who worked there, and she passed the JPTL2 at age 16 (formal japanese translation test)

Oh wow. I wish I were better at learning languages, but I have trouble enough speaking English.
I may not have a choice, especially if my fiancee gets an international assignment

Learning a foreign language is surprisingly good for teaching yourself what you didn't know about english
Grammar rules, how english is incredibly hard to learn if you're not a native speaker due to exceptions to grammar rules being more common than the actual rules

Oh certainly, English is not an easy language. Part of what I like about it is the true variability of it, along with the bits and pieces borrowed from Latin and Greek. It's similar to programming: there's an elegant way to do it, then there's a hackish, half-baked way that ain't so great now, is it?

I wish I knew another language :(

Alright, my laptop is about to die. No bites so far on Reddit, will continue suggestions later.
Cheers y'all

@ChrisForrence One thing to keep in mind about the tag cleanup is this: It's really a content cleanup. The idea is to go through questions with the tags and fix their problems.
If the goal is to simply remove the tags, we can have a Stack Exchange developer blacklist or burninate them, where they basically just run a query and wipe them out of existence. :) Hope this helps clarify.
I guess I could have done a better job in wording that in meta... my fault.

Most of the posts actually look pretty good.

is now a thing. We still need to clean up our tag wikis, though.

Wish me luck; I just got a bite! I guess I'm now a moonlighter!
It still sounds weird, moonlighter. It reminds me of this (3.bp.blogspot.com/-w5dr0MG40NU/TwyZtar2v3I/AAAAAAAACO8/…)

@ChrisForrence You used to watch that show? I feel embarrassed saying I did, long, long ago :P

I didn't, but I knew of it (we got broadcast channels)
