Q: Identify IRC users with largest vocabulary ignoring links and short words

HSchmaleI wrote this script to figure out which users have the largest vocabulary on my irc server. I would like to see if there's any way to clarify what I consider a very quick script. It outputs a CSV without a header of user, their unique words, most common words and the use of those words. import sy...

Q: Generic LRU Cache in Java

Adam McClenaghanProblem I am creating a generic LRU Cache in Java. The LRU Cache should have O(1) set/get complexity. It is not expected to be thread safe. Feedback I would especially like your feedback on: Code readability & naming Areas of redundancy I am personally debating whether the RecencyQueue should l...

If your code is working and you have no specific problem, your question is too broad for SO. You might want to ask it on codereview.stackexchange.comThierry Lathuille 26 secs ago

As mentioned - this is better suited for code review. Nevertheless It's essentially the same formula repeated for the differing depths indicates that there is repeating code and you may use a function. Also I think you will find Ned Batchedler's Keep data out of your variable names useful — buran 32 secs ago

I'm sorry, as I said before I'm very new to coding in general and i'm also new to stackoverflow, so i'm unfamiliar with code review. I'll take a look at it. Thank you for responding with a reference as well, but if I understand functions correctly(which I honestly probably don't), a singular function wouldn't work for my program unless it included literally everything I have already typed out anyway. The actual python file contains 700+ lines of code, but most of it is repeated except adjusted for the corresponding position in the list. — PuttBluggin 15 secs ago

Q: More efficient way to assign a value from multiple lists

PuttBlugginI'm new to coding but I'm particularly new to python. I wrote a program that will determine a diver's table and schedule(because it relates to my job). It essentially assigns a value from multiple lists based on a given int(bottom time), and another given int(depth) as well as a given string asso...
