@Phrancis Apparently Firefox/MS already have this tech
Opera runs off WebKit, so if Chrome implements it so will WebKit
Safari uses Blink, so it's anyone's guess there
I thought Safari was WebKit?
WebKit is a layout engine software component for rendering web pages in web browsers. It powers Apple's Safari web browser, and a fork of the project is used by Chromium-based browsers, such as Google Chrome or Opera. WebKit also forms the basis for the experimental browser included with the Amazon Kindle e-book reader, as well as the default browser in the Apple iOS, BlackBerry Browser in OS 6 and above, and Tizen mobile operating systems. WebKit's C++ application programming interface provides a set of classes to display web content in windows, and implements browser features such as following...
I'm wrong, apparently
What uses Blink, then..
According to Wiki.
Ah, Chrome uses Blink. Safari uses WebKit.
I got them mixed up.
Though Blink is a fork of WebKit anyway
Edge uses EdgeHTML, which is based on Trident (IE's).
> EdgeHTML is a proprietary layout engine developed by Microsoft for the Microsoft Edge web browser. It is a fork of Trident that has removed all legacy code of older versions of Internet Explorer and rewritten the majority of its source code with web standards and interoperability with other modern browsers in mind.
22:18
Which is why Edge doesn't suck and IE does.
And FF uses Gecko, which IE 11 tried to pretend to use.
Though Edge sort of sucks in that it only works on Windows 10
> Engines: Blink (WebKit on iOS), V8
It is developed as a universal app. That's why.
Bloody hell, you can't open dev tools on IE without having a page open.
That sucks.
s/IE/Edge
22:20
Open About:blank.
IIRC Chrome is the same
ah. The dev tools still suck.
about:blank is a page, technically
@Quill no it isn't; chrome browses to a new tab page which is its own page and can be inspected
document.location.href on about:blank on chrome gives me a url

torture artist singer
Whomever said yes was wrong. You can post a final solution in an answer not asking for further feedback, otherwise post a new follow-up question. — Jamal ♦ 14 mins ago
@Donald.McLean Oh, that singer.
You asked if you could answer your question with the example to show how you would improve it - the answer to that is yes, if it's written like a review. Bullet 3 specifically says "If you want to show everyone how you improved your code, but don't want to ask another question, then post an answer to your own question." , and the two bullets under it specify exactly how to do that: your answer must meet the standards of a Code Review answer, just like any other answer. - I said "yes" to question asking if you could answer your own post, not whether a new question is ok as an answer. — Mat's Mug ♦ 2 mins ago
