Hey folks. :)

Q: insert all sql server table rows in a Google BigQuery Table

user3569267I am coding in Coldfusion. I want to know the best way (best performance and reaction time) to insert all rows of an SQL table into a Google Bigquery Table. Actually I am looping over a query result and insert the rows one by one into the BigQuery Table. The query 'GetShippingList' returns all T...

Hey @kleinfreund
Okay, @rolfl, to make up for the last two days I'm posting three pictures at once now. ;)

All three from that garden I was talking about. ;) Jardins des Alfábia on Mallorca.
I like the white one.. but they're all :)
They are all "wow".
The black dots are some kind of insects. Adds the little imperfection.
I also like the arum lily
@Donald.McLean Twilight? really?

Have you read it?
And I like how the drops on the pink flower look with the shadow.
I should know the name of the pink one, and that's irritating me......

Today our teachers were lazy and so we quickly drove to the town and bought a water melon and ate it in class. That's a school day.
14:14
@rolfl I have not read a book in a long time, unless you count kids books
Yeah, sparkling vampires. :D
I guess pdf's aren't books, right?
I say kids books count.
The Twilight books have some amazing ideas. If you can't look past the sparkling to see them, that's your loss.
Debating whether sparkle or sizzle vampires are more or less realistic, is somewhat off-topic on CR.
Well, yeah, we all know that sparklers are more realistic.... ;-)

Q: Rosalind's 3rd problem in Scheme

Alex M.I have an imperative programming background and I've decided to study functional programming by applying it to problems found on sites such as Project Euler and Rosalind. My language of choice is Scheme (I use CHICKEN). As can be seen, I'm only starting out. This is about the 3rd problem found o...

@rolfl Dependency injection or lesbian parents?
@rolfl Perhaps it's time to create a name for that. (The English question, Dependency Injection already has a name AFAIK)
@SimonAndréForsberg Feb 18 : I've mention using @Test and JUnit for proper testing. He "noted" my suggestion. I can't see any use of @Test in his code before Apr 27, so I can't wait to see when he will use DI!
@sim it's a fine strategy to attract my votes and keep my rep score below yours.. </wicked>
someone try to invoke me in the tester room
@SimonAndréForsberg - as it happens, for a pregnant lesbian, it was likely Dependent Injection

@BlueCheeseMonster - Avada Cadava!
How about inversion of control? ;)
@rolfl it's malachi right now. I am at home for a minute or two more
This .... is funny.
@rolfl == the-monkey-that-shall-not-be-named!!
@Marc-Andre Good point.

Gotta go shoot some hoops.
I just did something I'm not very proud of
I "fixed a bug"
var filter = Settings.DeploySettings.Single(e => e.Name == Properties.Settings.Default.ProcessFilter).Value; // possible NullReferenceException...
like this:
var filter = "TheValue"; //temp fix...
@Mat'sMug Ouch, I can understand why you're not proud of that!
@Mat'sMug and javadeveloper has no answers :
this code is the very very first DI/IoC code I've ever written.. it's ok, but there are so many things I'd do differently... you know this quote in my profile? It's that code that inspired it! (the more code I write, the more I can't stand looking at what I wrote 2 months ago)

I have done some cleanup on Meta regarding . I've also already merged with , which received the highest number of upvotes.
By the way, @Mat'sMug, I think you may still be able to earn Taxonomist, based on what I've seen with the latest awarded Taxonomist on the badge page.
bah, I'm not counting on it anymore - it looks like the thing is dying down, and I'm not expecting @SimonAndréForsberg's post(s) until somewhere in mid-June ;)
Okay
44 questions is darn close though
20:35
Maybe people will have more time this summer, unless most will be on vacation.
@Mat'sMug lol, thanks for that confidence :)
hey no problem, anytime!
meh.. bad CR day today.. got too much things done at work!

I have done some work recently on the game I wanted to share on CR, I'm not sure how clean I should have my code though. I feel that there's some temporal coupling and sh*t in it currently, but I'm not entirely sure how to get rid of that.
Perhaps I should just lower my requirements and post the thing anyway...

Q: Clojure function composition: logging results of an action performed by a "pure" function

futurepaulWondering how I could compose this program better allow it to grow more functionality without constant refactoring. This is my code sample for Hacker School, so I'm less married to the results but instead am looking to further my understanding of Clojure and functional programming. Basically, m...

I don't think it's dying down, we just need better challenges. I gotta admit, making a TCG game is freakin' hard (right, @skiwi?) (at least when you want these features)
20:40
Puyo-Puyo would have been easier?
Not sure. Hard to know without making it
Let's make one for Android!
oh damn again clojure
But given the complexiness of Hearthstone, I think Puyo-Puyo would be easier.
Now that you mention Android, I do have one idea for an upcoming challenge, the only question is how specific the challenge should be...
I need to do something outside of Windows dev.
My web dev skills are in the basement
(and no worries, I left my C64/BASIC 2.0 dev skills in the attic)
20:47
@Mat'sMug Considering learning Android development, are you?
well I have an Android phone, and I need to broaden my private static final List<ProgrammingLanguage> _comfortableWith;
4
and then foreach(var language in _comfortableWith) { DoSomething(language); }
im learning flex right now
if that is even a valid statement
I'm off to bed
cu all
peace
you know... binding in flex is actually easier than WPF
but... the WPF binding is super quick
in flex
you just be like
[bindable] variable declaration
gotta run, @later!
20:54
peace
later @Mat'sMug
don't break your handle while running @Mat'sMug

Volodymyr BakhmatiukI'm sure that among you (users of codereview) there are many who are interested in Codeforces problemset.
