What's the hard part?
Perhaps you'll see. Perhaps you'll find a way so that it isn't hard at all.
Perhaps you won't even consider it code duplication.
For me the logic is the hardest part to implement cleanly...

@AlexL Yeah, it's a lot of fun. If you look at the starred messages by Simon, you can play a version of it.
Is it like code golf where the "best" is also the smallest? Or can we make it as abstract as we want? :P
@AlexL No, but we want to abide by DRY standards.
In software engineering, don't repeat yourself (DRY) is a principle of software development, a principle aimed at reducing repetition of information of all kinds, especially useful in multi-tier architectures. The DRY principle is stated as "Every piece of knowledge must have a single, unambiguous, authoritative representation within a system." The principle has been formulated by Andy Hunt and Dave Thomas in their book The Pragmatic Programmer. They apply it quite broadly to include "database schemas, test plans, the build system, even documentation." When the DRY principle is applied su...

Sigh. There's nothing more frustrating than being 1 of 3 answers to a SO question. The other two answers are wrong. You leave comments explaining why they're wrong and point them to your own answer for more clarity... and what do they do? Just insist that they're right.
And say "I don't care about downvotes. I just want to help."
When the fact of the matter is, a downvote is a pretty clear indication that you're not helping actually.
