Q: Solve a letter digit substitution game in Haskell

lanfI am working on a Haskell problem from exercism, which is a learn-to-code website. The problem statement is as follows. Write a function to solve alphametics puzzles. Alphametics is a puzzle where letters in words are replaced with numbers. For example SEND + MORE = MONEY: S E N D M O R E...

Q: A* algorithm implementation in modern C++

Green绿色I've written the A* search algorithm in C++. My goal is primarily writing concise and understandable code, while making use of some new features of modern C++ (where appropriate) and having generally good performance (importance of these goals in the order they were mentioned). The goal of the al...

Q: Detecting when a user returns to page and preventing multiple execution of the same function called by different listeners

StackeritoI need to detect when a user returns to page and then call a function. For that I figured I need to use both visibilitychange and focus event listeners to check if the user returned to the page, because these two don't always overlap. So sometimes only the visibilitychange event will be triggered...

My guess is that it is the local variables you put on the object, like this.date in getDates() or this.type in getTypes(). Those should be regular variables (i.e. let type = .... There are a few similar things in your code that strike me as "wrong", even though those probably don't cause issues (but might, or at least make the code hard to follow). You might be better off by requesting a code review than asking about one thing not working in your code. — Moritz Ringler 28 secs ago

Q: Swift: Fetch XML and check it's well formed

DanI want to download an XML and check to see if it can be parsed at all, no schema validation. I was thinking to write two free functions, to separate concerns and wrap them in a third, public API: enum PlistFirmwareFetcher { static let firmwarePlistURL = "https://mesu.apple.com/assets/macos/co...

Q: Performance issue when using the kivy MDDatatable on RaspberryPi 3+

Sebastian HösingThe Problem: I want to display a table with data on the raspberry, that gets updated after clicking on a button. I use the MDDatatable form kivymd for the table. Welcome to Stack Overflow! @[type here] the question would need quite a bit of work before it's suited to Code Review. You could have pointed the asker at A guide to Code Review for Stack Overflow users, as some things are done differently over there - e.g. we need to see complete code in context rather than SO-style minimal reproducible example, and a good description of the purpose of the code, with a title that simply says what the code is for (the question is always, "How can I improve this?"). — Toby Speight just now

You are right. I found the answer here codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/275685/… This solution really helps processing locks one by one and in the same time keeping the dictionary clear. — Pavel Grishin 9 secs ago

@Pavel Grishin I think that the linked implementation (StringLock) is buggy. I posted a comment under the answer explaining why. — Theodor Zoulias 30 secs ago

Q: Flag tukey outliers using python pandas groupby

QuentinNew to python and pandas. I would like to use pandas groupby to flag values in a df that are outliers. I think I've got it working, but as I'm new to python, wanted to ask if there is a more obvious / pythonic approach. Given input data with two groups, two variables X and Y: n=10000 df= pd.DataF...

Q: Collatz sequence in C

nyzFirst of all, if you're unfamiliar with the Collatz sequence, it recursively applies the following function to an integer: $$ f(n) = \begin{cases} n/2 & \text{if } n \equiv 0 \pmod{2}, \\ 3n+1 & \text{if } n \equiv 1 \pmod{2}. \end{cases} $$ What I wanted to do was to make a program that would: ...

Is this a question for Code Review? — Weather Vane 20 secs ago
@WeatherVane ah I wasn't aware of Code Review, sorry. With regards to absoluteDiff++/previousFrame++: it is expected to happen frameWidth * frameHeight * 4 times. So a lot of times. The previousFrame/currentFrame is laid out in the format [a,r,g,b,a,r,g,b,a,r,g,b...]. With the absoluteDiff++/previousFrame++ statements I am effectively moving forward in those arrays. — ImJustACowLol 50 secs ago
