Q: Grouping arrays with different lengths to make a single sentValues() for the spreadsheet

Digital FarmerCurrently I find out which is the biggest array and from it I generate a while loop and I go around errors with try catch: function stackoverflow() { var sheet = SpreadsheetApp.getActive().getSheetByName('Ratings Time A'); var menu = [ ['Atletico Lanus'], ['1795.72'], ['Atletico L...

Q: Pythonic way to update the value of a key in a dictionary?

js.94I have a function is responsible for updating time-type field in dict, is there has any pythonic way to achieve this requirement? def update_time_field(row): if "time" in row: row["time"] = time.time() if "start_time" in row: row["start_time"] = time.time() a = {"time": 1234456} a = upda...

What is your actual question? Do you have any problems? Stack overflow is not a code review site. — JHBonarius 57 secs ago

Q: Find all pairs of words that differ by one letter

kodkodI have a list of words in English. My aim is to find all pairs of words that differ by exactly one letter (i.e. edit distance is 1). For instance: PAY-PLAY, WARM-ARM, WORD-WORK. The naive algorithm is to compare every word with all other words in the list. I've improved it by noticing that if one...

Q: Supplying pre-commit feedback on question uploads (for certain type of questions)?

a.t.Context I am positively surprised by the amount of code quality verifications that can be performed automatically. Accordingly, I thought it may be valuable for other people that are not familiar with pre-commit or that do not have the know-how on how to set up such a configuration on their own d...

Q: What are some things I could do to make my code better?

Yummy275I recently made a simple portfolio template for myself with React and Styled Components and I was wondering what are some things I can do to improve my coding in general? Is there anything that immediately stands out when you look at my code that I should work on or keep in mind for future projec...

@CaptainObvious That won't do.

@pacmaninbw I got process-scheduling working for my OS course, the course only did scheduling that worked if at least one process was a tight-loop, I rewrote the scheduler so that if all processes are sleeping it will still continue to check on them without consuming 100% of the CPU
Basically the course scheduler would not support all processes being in a "sleep" state, and required 100% CPU usage just to continue to schedule, took a bit of engineering to make it work without tightly looping.
Now, what I do, is when the last process goes to "sleep", I turn interrupt handling back on, turn process switching off, then execute a halt instruction. Once that instruction is executed, the CPU pauses until the timer interrupt fires again. When that interrupt fires again it returns to the hlt instruction and continues after it, which then checks again to see if any processes can be woken up.

Q: streaming / low memory groupby in julia

chaseI am working on a groupby-aggregation function that will work without RAM overflow issues. Essentially, I want it to run as fast as possible, while not necessarily loading the entire data structure into RAM. The best solution would load as much as possible into RAM for increasing performance/sp...

Q: C++ I wrote a simple and fast formatting library for strings

Maysara ElshewehyC++ FString A quick C++ formatting library I was working on a logging library, and needed some way to format strings quickly, simple and clean, so I wrote this library. This library is not the best in general, but for my project needs it is the fastest and the best Features Easy include and jus...

Q: C++ Static polymorphism at compile-time

VuwoxWith C++20 [concept & requires][1], we are able to retrieve some information about class at compile time. Using such information in template lead to static polymorphism. This toy code works as expected, but I'm planning to get such idea on large scale project where there is a lot of virtual class...

Q: Why is a while loop with stack slower than recursion?

caffeinI'm implementing a function in Python to build a json_object string for MYSQL from a dictionary, for example: {'a': 1, 'b': [1, 2, 3], 'c': {'d': 4}} --> json_object('a', 1, 'b', json_array(1, 2, 3), 'c', json_object('d', 4)) Since I have to go through all the levels of the dictionary the functio...

@DerKommissar The original doesn't sound like a very good implementation. Interrupt handling should always be running. How are processes prioritized? Is there a way for processes to end?
Classes may use simplified OS software to teach concepts.

9:42 PM
Yeah processes can self-terminate or be terminated, but the course required a process to always be "doing" something for interrupts to stay running
