@Peilonrayz was there a joke I missed? did you believe Mast's response to your question was a pun?

@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ I think the response was jocular to some extent, probably not a pun. But given my social skills I'm also open to me just being an idiot

I'm probably in the same boat

Q: JS react manage dark mode ternary

manuelBetancurtHow to choose the dark mode properly? {isDarkMode ? <ImageBackground source={require('../Images/bgndDark/bgGradient.png')} style={styles.container}> <Charter isDarkMode /> </ImageBackground > : <Charter isDarkMode={false} /> } Just feels wrong to duplicate "Charter"?

@CaptainObvious best practice question? I think the code looks hypothetical but am not sure... I flagged it- we shall see how the community responds...

I can certainly see the value in this. In large teams, especially where code reviews only happen between a team they can circumvent preventative measures by accident and cause issues that go uncaught. This would be no different than validating functionality, but rather validating architecture. — Michael Brown 25 secs ago

Q: Strlen function optimization

SalmoncattSo I'm making a strlen function and I thought I would use SIMD instructions for it. It runs fine but when comparing it to std::strlen(), it falls a lot behind. Any ideas on how to make it faster would be much appreciated. inline size_t strlen(const char* data) { const __m128i terminationC...

Q: Can't keep drawing on Jpanel to stay

Ron MercerI have this code in JAVA that draws shapes like the paint app. Every time I click and drag to make a new rectangle, the previous one disappears. that question would fit better for sites as code review. Having multiple css-files for organisation is a no go. For organisation you have comment options. HTML: <!-- Comment --> and CSS: /* Comment */ do not only organise but labeling the sections. — tacoshy 20 secs ago

For Code review I would flag following things: Missing language tag within the head. Background color should be added to the css not as inline style. I see no reason to nest your header that much. <p><img></p> I see no reason to wrap an image within an empty paragraph.n <center> tag is otudated with the introduction of HTML5. Its an ancient HTML4 tag. Nowadays you center by using css. — tacoshy 6 secs ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow! Unfortunately this is the wrong site for such a question. You might consider codereview.stackexchange.com to get specific code reviewed. However, posting just a github link on that site will likely result in a fairly quick closed question. You should consider including specific code you want reviewed, when posting there, along with any specific details around that code. — David Makogon 16 secs ago
Also: Please be careful when tagging. For example, the description of the review tag states that the tag is not to be used for code review questions. I've removed that tag from your question, accordingly. — David Makogon 37 secs ago

Hello, welcome to Stack Overflow! This question might be more suited for Code Review. — Ann Zen 35 secs ago
@AnnZen please don't use the existence of the Code Review site as a reason to close a question. Evaluate the request and use a reason like Needs more focus, primarily opinion-based, etc. Then you can mention to the OP that it can be posted on Code Review if it is on-topic. Please see Does being on-topic at another Stack Exchange site automatically make a question off-topic for Stack Overflow?Sᴀᴍ Onᴇᴌᴀ 8 secs ago

It made me look twice... which means I'd probably recommend putting the increment by itself in a code review. Don't feel really strongly on it, but still worth noting. — Michael Dorgan 56 secs ago

So two things: first, it doesn't really matter why, does it? This isn't code review. I just want to know how to get this out without blowing up the memory. Oh but second is I freaking hate the Java docs sometimes because the getText(int offset, int length) is SO far away from the getText() method that I solely thought existed. Thanks for letting me know I missed that! — ABadHaiku 20 secs ago

Tactical note: If you move the do/while loop and the subsequent if to a function and return from the function when you get an error or the message, you won't have to waste time fighting over the goto statement during code review. — user4581301 38 secs ago

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST or "Webb") is a joint NASA-ESA-CSA space telescope that is planned to succeed the Hubble Space Telescope as NASA's flagship astrophysics mission. The JWST will provide improved infrared resolution and sensitivity over Hubble, and will enable a broad range of investigations across the fields of astronomy and cosmology, including observing some of the most distant events and objects in the universe, such as the formation of the first galaxies. The primary mirror of the JWST, the Optical Telescope Element, is composed of eighteen hexagonal mirror segments of 1...

Why are you asking us whether it's valid? You should know before you post, since this is a testable item, and therefore out of scope for Stack Overflow. "Pythonic" is opinionated, and also off-topic, unless you can point out a specific technique and explain your worries about that point. Otherwise, you're asking for a code review -- on the wrong site. — Prune 9 secs ago

@Cortex when suggesting users post on CR it would be great if there was also a suggestion like "Please read the relevant help center pages like 'What topics can I ask about here?' and 'How do I ask a good question?". In the current form the code above would likely be closed as off-topic because it is missing context, which happens all too often. — Sᴀᴍ Onᴇᴌᴀ 58 secs ago
