Splitting it by comma and removing the labels is a fine approach: you already have it working, it's not slow, it's easy to understand and edit. Stick with it! (You could try using Spans but it would be more complex and see also codereview.stackexchange.com/a/194974/536) — Ian Mercer 20 secs ago

Q: Python 3 - simple temperature program

J KarleI have been teaching myself Python (as well as Tkinter) and today one of the sites I was reading, asked us to write a program to covert one value from Fahrenheit to Celsius, once - an easy three line program. As you can read in the comments for the program below, I wanted to expand on this. This...

Since the code is workable, this is a question for codereview.stackexchange.com . Providing simplified component will also help. Is it possible to modify state outside parent that holds this state - this is what state management libs (Redux, Mobx) are for, can also be achieved with context API. — estus 45 secs ago
What exactly is your question? If it's about the quality of your solution in general than it's probably more suited for Code Review. — r3mus n0x 50 secs ago

Also, not sure what you mean by purely internal wrong usage". Someone writes an algorithm using an Array when List would be a better choice? You won't catch that with runtime monitoring either - how will your monitor know what is the right type for that specific case? This is what code reviews are for. — Dima 44 secs ago
You can measure memory/performance by yourself for your specific usecase. I don't think you will see too much difference. Speaking about design-patterns, it would be opinion-based. Personally, I don't see any reason for these functions to exist in the first place. I don't think they really comply with the single responsibility principle. How about posting your real working code on codereview.stackexchange.com so we can see the full context? — Georgy 28 secs ago

Just because something is on-topic on Code Review, that doesn't automatically mean it becomes off-topic here. This should be closed as opinion-based, not as "because it belongs on codereview.stackexchange.com". The post will now get closed and show the wrong message to the OP. — Lundin 16 secs ago

@pacmaninbw I've asked OP to explain in what cases it fails...

Adrian, in case you're not sure why your question has been closed, SO's mandate is to help readers fix broken code and to suggest algorithmic approaches, generally with included code. Code review, by contrast, is the place to go to get suggestions on how to improve working code. If you repost there I think you may be pleasantly surprised with the help you get there. Don't take the closing of your question as a rebuke.
