Definitely codereview.stackexchange.com which is a sister site to stackoverflow is a better place to ask such things as people’s mind set there is less about “right” and “wrong“ and more about “make better”. I asked a question there today and was very happy for the improvements in the answer. — simbo1905 1 min ago

Welcome @mickmackusa
I see a cached version of that question from 12/26/2018 webcache.googleusercontent.com/…
Have you read the following post?

A: How does deleting work? What can cause a post to be deleted, and what does that actually mean? What are the criteria for deletion?

jjnguyHow can a post be deleted? By a user: The author can typically delete their own posts at will; for exceptions, see When can't I delete my own post? below. To delete a post, just use the delete link below it. Moderators can delete any post instantly. Users with reputation ≥ 2k (more precisely, ...

Cheers. I have the sneaking suspicion that someone found the 2 month old post with no action, decided to downvote it so that it could be deleted. But because I lack the permissions to see the Deleter, it could have been that the OP just retracted the question. I have a content that I wish to post. Can anyone vote to Undelete? Can anyone tell me who deleted?
That's assume it was downvoted at all (I don't know because I can't see it).
@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ Yes, I understand the basics around the deleting actions.

@mickmackusa I figured you would but wondered if that accepted answer might have a possible way it was deleted that you hadn't considered

@200_success thanks for your reply (I actually didn't see it until SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ pointed me here)

@mickmackusa perhaps because 200_success isn't a moderator anymore...

@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ I am getting an * on this window tab's title, but it isn't pinging me like I have received a new comment on my comment tab (red dot on inbox icon on my other StackExchange tabs that are open). I see "disable desktop notification" which I think I would like to do because it is mildly annoying, but then I don't want to miss anything.

@mickmackusa hmm maybe it is a browser notification configuration issue?

cool was the comment also a bot or handcrafted? my initial reading of it was that it was a bit harsh. i totally get why edits are not a good thing having read the meta post so i have absolutely no quibble over the bot reverting changes. yet i had a strong negative emotional response to being 'told off' when trying to share the joy of the solution. i would recommend something like "Thanks for attempting to refine your question by incorporating feedback from answers, yet doing so goes against the Question + Answer style of Code Review so we automatically revert such changes. There's no way to tell you anything unless you provide a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable example and explain what you expect for input/output. uncertainties.UFloat.__format__(self, format_spec) is the equivalent of MyClass.__format__ = OtherClass.__format__ anyway. And this site is definitely for criticizing code, the difference between here and CodeReview is that CodeReview is for working code. But if you come here with something that doesn't work, it is a perfectly valid comment to say "Don't do that, it's a bad idea".
