Q: Singleton rewrite based on old one

ThePunnFor some time I'm using this singleton implementation. It was written in 2003 by some programmers who were most likely paid 5 euros per hour. I read that singletones are bad, yet my program uses singleton in 90% of the codes and I can not get rid of it, because the program is very big. This is t...

Q: C++ for_each_adjacent

TaylorI was watching a C++ Talk and he showed some code for a basic for_each_adjacent. I took the base concept and improved it a little bit, I am wondering if i could have any feedback. Q: Supporting class parameterization with both templates and constructor arguments

ktbI am in the process of designing a fixed point math library for use in both C++ as well as Python via pybind11. Q: I'm wondering how I could do a "GroupBy" on Dict Keys?

Kelly KleinknechtList> SSRList = new List() I can fill the list up just fine with the proper data, but don't have a way worked out to "GroupBy" A Key by it's name like x["TestTech"] where the dict value would be "Walter" or something like that. Something like: var grouped = SSRList.Groupby(x => x["TestTech"]);

Appreciate the question, however I personally believe you may have done this slightly out of order. Before asking SO for help, I'd suggest taking a shot at writing the function, and if you get into the weeds, ask for some help! If you get it working but want to improve it, drop it over in Code Review. Good luck! — Tyler Roper 1 min ago
@TylerRoper, why in Code Review not in here, what is it different from here? — Tarek.hms 16 secs ago
@Tarek.hms StackOverflow is for code that you're trying to fix, or resolving specific problems. If your code is working perfectly and you're just looking to improve how it's written, then you'd post it at Code Review. — Tyler Roper 53 secs ago

Welcome to StackOverflow. Please take a stackoverflow.com/tour so that you post only stackoverflow.com/help/on-topic questions. As currently written, "Tell me how to do this better" and "If there are any comments on the code, I'll be very glad to hear them too" are not parts of a specific problem, so you should probably post your question at codereview.SE like Adrian has suggested and remove it here at SO. Unrelated code review: don't put vector constants at global scope or make them static, like const __m256i one = _mm256_set_epi64x(1, 1, 1, 1);. Compilers actually do worse with that than defining them inside functions. (They init the static storage at runtime by copying from another vector constant.) Also, you don't need _mm256_select_si256. Instead use the vcmpps result as a 0 / -1 integer. i.e. result = _mm256_sub_epi64(result, _mm256_castpd_si256(cmp_result)). x - (-1) is x++, and x - (0) is x. — Peter Cordes 9 secs ago

It's not clear what you want improved here. But if your code is working, and you're just asking for general tips of "how is my code, is there anything I can do better?", the place for that is Code Review, not Stack Overflow. (But make sure to read their help before posting there—they have their own rules for what's on-topic, and what information to include in a question, and so on.) — abarnert 1 min ago
