You've entered the Forest, hoping to find some sign of where Grandmother lives before the Forest's other inhabitants take too strong of an interest in you.
All too quickly, the trees around Sanguine are wide and tall, with a canopy that shrouds the mossy ground with dark green light.
"Sanguine" looks around, her blood-red cloak (really? in a forest? Oh well, it was grandmother's gift...) draped neatly around her shoulders.
She nibbles on an oatmeal cookie as she walks. She knows that she has got to cut out the cookie nibbling, but they're so tasty. And stress. Stress is totally why she's eating the cookie.
The knife in her belt is also acutely troubling her.
It's been... consecrated in a ritual that... well... mmm, cookies... cookies are safe.
Squirrels, birds, and lizards scatter through the branches as she passes. Nearing the hill, her vantage point lets her see the top of it clearly well before a hiker person could.
"King Kazul says I'm not mature enough to choose my name yet, but I am! Look at these scales! And watch this!" Under the influence of Sanguine's flatteries and cookie, the dragon is becoming more comfortable.
It opens up and lets out a gout of flame which would be very impressive on a smaller dragon.
"Well, I was trying to figure out how to bake in this forest, because building up a fire is... kind of annoying... but since you can breathe fire... I can make us SCONES! ... and probably some tea!"
"Can I call you... Jenny?"
She's totally trying to be subtle here, and failing. (with that last bit.)
Her pack is about 9 parts cooking supplies to 1 part camping gear. Her only "assassiny" thing is the consecrated dagger in her belt, and her not... particularly flattering form-fitting undersuit.
Sanguine looks completely confused. "Er, wait, this is getting into ontological stuff, isn't it Jenny? I'm... wait, can I do it, can I do it.. okay, so we need to... "She trails off, muttering, in a thicket of theology and philosophy.
The dragon seems flabbergasted. "I thought only the King of the Enchanted Forest could do that!" A flabbergasted dragon is a sight few ever get to see.
"I... just called you Jenny, so, maybe I did it? But you might not mean the same thing I do and... " She pouts. "I hoped you'd be my friend. But I'll still make you scones anyways."
The dragon blinks again. "A... friend? Making me scones? I've never had a friend who made scones."
Less excited now that getting a name seems to be off the table, it settles down in a half-curl around the edge of the hilltop to watch Sanguine make scones.
Sanguine carefully sets up the rock oven on a ... rocky outcropping, carefully stacking a bit of fallen wood under it. She then stands back, starting to shape scones in anticipation.
She shucks off her cloak, clad only in her assassin's leathers. "Okay!" Climbs back into the canopy and starts making her way over. This... to her, is still an awesome training exercise and making a friend.
