Since the post is currently deleted, I understand that handling the flags are not an immediate priority. But the user posting the flagged comments has a history on this site of hostile comments.
I worked very hard on my PhD thesis, and I think it would be cool to have a nicely bound physical copy of it. I’m simply wondering if obtaining one is a common thing to do.
@amWhy and @quid and our much beloved @XanderHenderson (aka Professor X) and one of my best friends @sai-kartik. MSE has helped me a lot and i have tried my best to give back whatever i could offer. But now i think i have also been heavily demotivated with the nature of some particular user and mods.Now i will not try to prove anything, all i can say is this time i didn't make any comments. while the user knight said there is straw in my brain(new to me). My chat privileges have been taken away,
for a month.I just give up for now, hoping someone will realise how stupid they were.
Do you think SE has not managed guys like you before? At least have some respect for the people here, they have made this platform free from all these things and now you’re mocking them.
@XanderHenderson :P I qualified my response, to affirm I like "good" literature, and not pulp-fiction! I will, upon request, try to pin down what "good literature" means to me! :P
I do read some pulp fiction. It is a good way to turn off one's brain.
Though the majority of my fun-time reading is sf---I try to keep up with what is happening in the sf and fantasy world, and typically read all of the Hugo and Nebula best novel nominees each year (though I have had trouble keeping up for the last two).
I have also been on an audiobook binge recently, listening to biographies of influential Americans while commuting (though the 'rona has shut that down).
Ruth Bader Ginsberg has a good memoir out (My Own Words), and Richard Brookhiser's biography of John Marshall is quite worth reading / listening to.
@amWhy Yes, because he has created a room for the problems concerning me and I afraid if I will be summoned at a time when I shall not be able to present myself.
@Knight I don't think that should be allowed, but as amWhy said that's for moderators to deal with (though I had no idea it was possible to chat without an SE profile).
By the way, an acquaintance asked me to help publicize his new book on Docker. I have never used Docker, nor have I read the book, so I have no opinion on it. But perhaps, someone here might be interested.
He asks if anyone I know might want a pre-publication copy. So feel free to ask if anyone is interested!
