@XanderHenderson Very enjoyable. But I think that the joy of discovering how to use a musical instrument to make beautiful music is even more palpable! :P
@amWhy I think that learning to use any tool to produce art (including one's own body) holds joy. I am not sure that I find the joy of learning an instrument any more (or less) palpable than learning to code music. ;)
Just different.
@XanderHenderson Yes different. And I do not mean to demean computer generated music. But one is limited to the menu of what one has programmed, period, which pressing the same keys in the same sequence will reproduce exactly what is programmed. That's not so with human voice, the arm of a violinist, the hands of a guitarist, the breath and fingering of a flutist. I'm not saying one is better than the other. Just that they are different, and require different skills: memorization vs. improvisation
predicatability (programmed), vs. spontaneity.
@XanderHenderson What about computer generated art? Any thoughts? Again, I think it can be a form of art, but different from free-form human paining, drawing, etc. But probably no less an art. And photography is probably even more complicated a subject!
@Xander One arena: humor/stand-up comedy, is one area in which I can not yet envision computer generated humor. I'm not talking about memes drawn on-line, or anything like that. I can't imagine anything comparable to Drew Carey, or Seinfeld, Ellen D, or any number of a host of comedians, that a computerized voice could be programmed to create. Maybe humor is the ultimate human quality upon which to test future technology.

I was told I need to watch something. I am not sure what it is now.
@amWhy Agreed.
A lot of human input is still required.
@amWhy alright from the timeline it ought to be this one. I'd say it needs to be pitched up and combined with a decent beat. ;-)
@amWhy But you're out of the loop, @quid. We've taken over your chatroom! ;-)
@quid Ha!
@amWhy We control the vertical. We control the horizontal.
22:11
@amWhy very well. I am gad to let you party while I am away.
Did you invent a new word, @quid: gad? :P
It actually sounds pretty hip!
Let us all gad about!
@amWhy yes it's the new fad.
@quid Are you sure you weren't meaning to write "I am glad to let you party while I am away"?
But actually, we were sort of gadding about while you were away!.
@quid Here's something with a decent "beat":
@amWhy nah, that'd be boooooooooooring.
@quid :P
@amWhy gad you liked it.
@quid Hah!
@quid tusk, tusk, tusk!
@amWhy what about tawn?
Oddly that seems to be a word too.
23:26
@quid Hard pressed to come up with new words these days!
@amWhy actually it started out that I actually thought that dusk is written tusk, and so I was set on saying dawn and kinda had to force it in.
I'll need to leave now and finish some stuff. I likely check back a bit.
@quid Sure, See you l8r.
