One theme I'm noticed in many negative responses is how quickly SE acted on a twitter post from a non-member, while many, many SE memebers/users have been asking for change wrt HNQ for a very long long time. I tend to empathize with this aspect. I'm not terribly happy with how HNQ's are selected on math.se, and users from other sites have expressed similar grumblings. I hope all the "promises" to re-examine the entirety of the HNQ algorithms etc is sincere, not because of the recent fiasco
with IPS, but because I don't think HNQs, or how they're selected independently from site input, has been working for some time.
